(The webpage featuring the photos includes a quote from a 2000 WIRED story in which the longstanding dinner series was briefly mentioned.) An email listed on The Edge’s website did not receive an immediate response to WIRED’s request for comment. The House committee’s investigation into Epstein has been going on for several months, and is separate from the document dump expected to be released by the Department of Justice this week. Penis worms are marine creatures with a distinctly phallic appearance. There are more than 20 known species living across the world’s oceans today, as well as a number of extinct ones, like this new discovery. The researcher who made the find was searching for fossils in the Grand Canyon and named the species Kraytdraco spectatus in honor of the huge burrowing krayt dragons that appear in the Star Wars universe. Details of the discovery were published in the journal Science Advances. Trying to imagine how the ancient worm might have fed, the researchers hypothesize that along its proboscis it combined strong, sharp teeth with more delicate feathered ones for a two-stage eating process. The former could have been used to pick up food such as algae and microorganisms dispersed in the sand where the worm would have lived, the latter to filter this food out of the substrate and chew it. But having only a fossil to look at, and not being able to see the worm at work, this remains only a hypothesis. The discovery of the worm was made by University of Cambridge doctoral student Giovanni Mussini, who found a fossil remnant of it during a multidisciplinary scientific expedition along the Colorado River at the base of the canyon.

At least 17,000 pounds of evidence is on display at the library, says David Garrett, the main organizer of the exhibit at the Institute for Primary Facts, a nonprofit intended to promote transparency and accountability in the US government. “The evidence in this room is evidence of one of the most horrific crimes in American history,” Garrett says. “When people come through this room, I hope they realize that in America, we have the rule of law, and if they stand up they can take action and demand accountability for the crimes that were committed.” Garrett says that the institute employed numerous fact-checkers and lawyers to make sure all the information presented was verifiable and accurate. It took about a month to assemble the files, including finding a venue willing to host the installation as well as a printer able to compile them. Though the installation will be open to the public from May 8 to May 21, only journalists and members of law enforcement are permitted to actually read through the files; others will still be able to view the timeline and the tribute to survivors. This is because the Department of Justice failed to redact many of the survivors’ names when it released a new tranche of files last January, potentially exposing them to harassment or retribution, says Garrett. “Transparency and accountability is important, but from the very beginning we’ve centered this project around the victims and survivors,” he says. “That’s really what it’s about.”

The post included a link to the site: Epsteinexposed.com. That post got 5.5 million views. Hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world visited the site in the days that followed. And EricKeller2 was busier than ever. EricKeller2’s real name isn’t Eric Keller. He used a pseudonym to protect himself and his family from Jeffrey Epstein’s rich and powerful friends. On a forum with over 5,000 members claiming to be current and former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers, users vent their frustrations and concerns about the agency. Or the AMC Independence Commons 20 in Independence, Missouri. WIRED reporters identified two screenings in the United States—out of nearly 1,400 we reviewed—that have sold out for Friday. To conduct our analysis, WIRED reviewed listings for 329 movie theaters located near 64 of the 100 US cities featured in a “Best US Cities to See a Movie” ranking list created by BetMGM, which has no affiliation with Amazon MGM Studios. (Due to technical issues, WIRED was unable to complete a full review of all 100 of BetMGM’s best cities to see a movie prior to publication.) From there, WIRED identified 1,398 ‘Melania’ showtimes listed for those theaters on Fandango, a ticket-buying website. Of those screenings, just two were sold out: the 12:55 pm at Vero Beach’s AMC CLASSIC Indian River 24 and the 1 pm at AMC Independence Commons 20 in Missouri. On AMC’s website, it appears that both showings were offered at a 20 percent discount, which is standard for showtimes before 4 pm. To be sure, there may be more sold-out showings across the US. WIRED only reviewed a portion of the listings on Fandango, and it’s possible that not all movie theaters sell tickets through that website. It is also possible that not all theaters offer advanced ticket seat selection. And of course, tickets can be purchased for screenings up until they’re shown.
