Would you do this? 📍Palo Duro Canyon, Canyon, Texas 🏜️ Palo Duro Canyon is the second largest canyon in the entire United States, stretching over 120 miles long, 20 miles wide, and plunging nearly 800 feet deep. It’s so massive that it’s often called the “Grand Canyon of Texas.” 🤯 🥾 It’s also home to some amazing hiking in Palo Duro Canyon State Park! Here are a few trails that we recommend: •Lighthouse Trail (5.7 miles round trip) The park’s most famous trail, leading to the iconic Lighthouse Rock formation. Moderate hike with stunning canyon views. •Givens, Spicer & Lowry Trail (6 miles one way) Winding through red rock cliffs and colorful layers of the canyon. You can also connect this to the Lighthouse Trail for a less popular trail. •Rock Garden Trail (2.4 miles one way, but steep!) Switchbacks that climb from the canyon floor up to the rim, so worth it for the views. •Juniper Riverside Trail (1.1 miles one way) A peaceful, shorter option that runs along the Prairie Dog Town Fork of the Red River. •Paseo del Río Trail (2 miles round trip) Easy stroll with shade, river views, and historical sites, perfect for hot days or casual walks. 🚮 Always Leave No Trace: pack it in, pack it out, and be respectful of others and the environment. Bucket list hike 😮‍💨🥾 South Kaibab to Bright Angel is a grueling, all-day trek through the heart of the Grand Canyon. Insane views, steep switchbacks, and that feeling of total awe as you descend to the Colorado River and climb all the way back out. My mom and I started hours before sunrise with headlamps on and hit the river by mid-morning. We rested for a few hours at Phantom Ranch before we spent the rest of the day slowly making our way up Bright Angel. It’s one of those hikes that humbles you as well as challenges mentally and physically! We were sore for days but it was so worth it for the unforgettable memories together! Would you do this one?
