Soy bean paste stew (or called doenjang jiggae in Korean) was and still is one of my all time comfort foods and mom’s version is hard to beat. It only takes a few ingredients and you have the perfect soul-warming dish. Just don’t forget any ingredients like we did and if you do, no worries - sign up for DashPass and save money on grocery delivery! #DoorDashPartner #giveyourselfapass #DashPass #DoorDash

The new Korean menu at @SHAKE SHACK is here for a limited time so I brought mom to try it all 😌 Not sure how long this will last so go check it out while you can! And special shout out to Portland’s own @Choi’s Kimchi Co. for the behind the scenes tour 🙌 #shakeshackpartner #ad

Mom and I both have regular jobs so sometimes when we’re too tired to go out to film our usual content, we’ll just order in and take the night off. With DashPass, we’re able to save money on delivery fees ($0 delivery fee on eligible orders) while still supporting our local restaurants. #DoorDashPartner #giveyourselfapass #DashPass #DoorDash

First off, pinch us, because we love you @heinz! Most of you know how much mom loves Heinz Ketchup but I bet you didn't know she prefers specifically ✨Simply✨Heinz Ketchup. It's made with all natural ingredients and has that unmistakable Heinz flavor! Omurice recipe: Heat 2 tsp oil, stir-fry ¼ cup diced potatoes, then ¼ cup diced carrots (they take longer). Add ¼ cup each zucchini and onion; cook until tender. Add ¼–⅓ cup bulgogi (optional) or any protein. Stir in 1½ cups cooked short-grain rice — about 40% veggies/protein to 60% rice. Season with 1 Tbsp soy sauce, 1½ Tbsp Heinz Simply Ketchup, pinch of black pepper, and 1 Tbsp green onions; mix until coated. Top with a thin 2-egg omelet and finish with a design made using Simply Heinz Ketchup. #HeinzPartner

Korean melon or "chamoe" 참외 is one of mom's favorite fruits! It's like a cucumber/melon/apple texture and best super cold! You can eat the seeds but we usually take most of them out and leave the inside flesh because that's where the sweetness is. We got these at G mart in Beaverton, $20 for a whole box. Let me know if you wanna see mom's other Korean grocery store favorites ☺️

A couple months ago, on our way to New York, Mom told me about a friend that she hadn’t seen in over a decade —someone she used to be close with back in Portland, but they had a small disagreement before her friend moved to New Jersey. She wasn’t sure where the friendship stood after all these years but I gently encouraged her to reach out anyway because, who knows? Mom sent a text and what you’re seeing in the first half of this video is what happened that very evening. Fast forward a couple months and now she's flying to Portland to visit mom. A reminder that it’s never too late to reconnect. 💛

Caught this moment when we were having dinner and felt like it was worth sharing. I was not an easy kid growing up. I got detention, threw parties at the house, played StarCraft until 3am on school nights...I gave my parents a lot to deal with. During high school I wasn't sure if I would be able to get into college after goofing off all those years. I only applied to two colleges and when I got in, I took that as a sign to turn my life around. I still had fun but prioritized my education, worked hard, and made it a goal of mine to do everything I could for my parents. 📍 Wok'n Guys 4655 SW Griffith Dr #115 Beaverton, OR 97005

What a surprising find! It was a bummer to see them so empty during dinner service because we truly enjoyed our experience here. Even though they don't have the biggest menu, everything was impressively good. Meat was tender, veggies super fresh, and the sweetest family (who I also found out took over the business about 2 years ago!) Check them out next time you're craving hot pot 🫶 📍 Beijing Hot Pot 2768 SE 82nd Ave Portland, OR 97266

Mom still works 3 days a week and sometimes she just craves something hot and spicy like yukgaejang, one of her favorite Korean dishes. It's a spicy soup with lots of shredded beef, large green onions, been sprouts, tofu, and noodles. Some places also make it with egg and fernbrake but I personally like the version here because I'm still traumatized from harvesting fernbrake for hours as a kid 😂 They can get busy so please be patient if you visit! If you are a group of 5 or more, definitely recommend making a reservation by calling ahead! 🫶 📍Chungdam 7901 SE Powell Blvd Suite# A1 Portland, OR 97206

We're in Oregon City! Sumo has been open for two weeks and I have a feeling they're going to be pretty popular 👀 Adjust your expectations since it's AYCE but we were pretty happy with what we ordered. Lots of variety, which we loved 😍 📍Sumo Sushi & Grill AYCE 19001 S Beavercreek Rd Oregon City, OR 97045
