Doctor VS Engineer. Who will make more money? #finance #PersonalFinance #money #investing
“Renting is a waste of money” 🤦‍♂️ But that’s not always true. Here’s a scenario using real world data: In 1994, two people started with the same $30,000. One used it as a down payment on a ~$130,000 home with an 8% mortgage. The other rented a place for ~$825 a month and invested the same $30,000 in the stock market — plus about $250 a month from the money they saved on homeownership costs like property taxes, maintenance, and insurance. Thirty years later, the homeowner’s house is worth about $450,000 (before inflation). The renter’s investments? About $440,000. Wtf? How? The power of compound interest and consistent investing. They both built wealth — just in different ways. Renting isn’t always a waste of money if you actually invest what you save from owning costs. The goal isn’t to rent forever — it’s to make choices that grow your wealth until buying a home makes sense for you, both financially and emotionally. Because owning a home isn’t the finish line — financial freedom is. #PersonalFinance #investing #realestate #rentvsbuy #wealthbuilding #financialfreedom

No one is talking about this potential crisis… #WhoShouldPayPartner Everyone talks about home prices, but almost nobody talks about home insurance. In many high-risk areas, insurers are raising premiums, dropping coverage, or leaving the region completely. Not because they’re bad, but because extreme weather (fueled by a changing climate) is getting more destructive and more expensive to insure. Experts are calling this the Climate Insurance Collapse — a growing crisis where some homes could become underinsured or even uninsurable. So what's the solution? Well, it starts with transparency. We need to arm home buyers with climate risk information, which isn't always available in listings. Suppressing this information leaves buyers unable to assess whether they can afford long-term insurance costs or natural disaster exposure. The last question is: Who should pay for these rising costs? Check out @Who Should Pay? to learn more. #finance #realestate #ClimateInsuranceCollapse #InsuranceCrisis

THIS is how millionaires actually invest. TLDR: Risk management. You're going to see people get lucky by going all in on a single stock. This is the vast minority. Most people who do this lose money. You can still invest in a higher risk manner, but keep it to no more than 10% of your portfolio (have fun with this). The rest should be in low cost index funds. #finance #money #investing #PersonalFinance

The trillion dollar business idea. Gift cards look harmless, but they’re one of the most profitable inventions in retail. Here’s why: 1. People almost always spend more than the gift card amount. If someone gets a $50 card and buys something that costs $70, the store now gets a $70 sale it never would’ve gotten. The customer feels like they “only spent $20,” but the business pockets the full $70. 2. A huge amount of gift card money never gets used. This is called breakage. Sometimes it’s a few cents left over. Sometimes it’s the entire card. Either way, that unspent balance becomes free profit for the store. 3. Gift cards force you back into the store. Even if you only plan to spend the exact amount, the moment you walk in, the business wins. Accessories, snacks, upsells — the odds of you buying more go way up. 4. They solve a huge problem in gift giving. People don’t know what to buy. Gift cards remove friction… and friction kills sales. That’s why companies love them. Here’s the part people don’t realize: Gift cards are designed to get you spending more money than you planned — or forgetting to use them entirely. If you get one, use it fully and intentionally. If you’re giving one, understand you may be helping the business more than the recipient. Most importantly, if you can’t afford gifts this holiday season, DO NOT go into debt for them. #finance #PersonalFinance #money #giftcards

The Gen Z Experience 🫠 (part 1) The average grad starts life with over $30,000 in debt, competing for jobs that barely require a degree. Tuition’s doubled, entry level wages haven’t. If you’re graduating soon, here’s how to actually stand out: - Focus on skills, not just your degree. Build projects that prove what you can do. - Network and talk to people already doing the job you want. Most hires come from referrals. - Add certifications or bootcamps that match what employers actually need. - Create a portfolio — real work beats a resume every time. A diploma isn’t a golden ticket anymore. It’s just your entry pass. What you *build* after that is what gets you hired. #finance #college #careeradvice #studentloans #PersonalFinance #genz

Costco’s GENIUS strategy that generates MILLIONS! Why the hell would companies purposely lose money on a product? Well, there's a business strategy called "Loss Leading. How it works is that a business sells a product or service below or at cost to attract customers and increase sales of more profitable items. The goal is that the initial loss will lead to greater profits. Costco does this with many of its food court items, like pizza and hot dogs. Rotisserie chicken is also another loss leader for them. While they lose money on these foods, they know people typically buy more than just these products (on top of paying an annual membership 🤯. Pretty clever right? #finance #PersonalFinance #money #costco #business
