UGH I hope I’m never chill about nature bc… WTF!!!! I can’t believe things like this exist!!! Here are some extra tips if you’re planning your own Iguazú weekend 👀 🌎 Do both sides if you can
Brazil gives you the wide, cinematic views. Argentina puts you inside the waterfalls. But if you only have one full day, Argentina is the priority. 🎟 Buy everything online in advance
Park tickets, the Gran Aventura boat ride, flights if possible. It saves time and stress, especially on weekends when things sell out fast. 🚌 Transportation is easy
Public buses from Puerto Iguazú run frequently to both parks. Crossing into Brazil was straightforward, but bring your passport!! 👟 Wear the right clothes
You will get soaked, especially on the boat ride. You have places where you can change afterwards, but quick-dry clothes, sandals, and a dry bag for your phone are clutch (they do provide dry bags for your things on the boat through!) ⏰ Timing matters
Catching Devil’s Throat later in the afternoon (last train) = fewer people and way more space to just stand there in awe. Highly recommend lingering if you can since the last train back is at 5:30!! Want more travel, adventure, and full-time travel content… I hope you stick around - @sierra.fernald <3

[ad] One thing nobody tells you about traveling full-time is that packing never actually gets easier... you just get pickier about the gear you trust. Lately, that's been the BAGSMART Getaway Set and Blast Packing Cubes. Anything that gives me more time exploring and less time dealing with logistics is a win in my book. If you're planning a trip soon and want to make packing a little less chaotic, check out the BAGSMART Getaway Set and Blast Packing Cubes through the link in my bio. Also, now's a great time to grab yours with up to 50% OFF! Oh... and you can also use promo code sierra10 for 10% off ;) @BAGSMART #bagsmart #bagsmarttravel #luggage #travel #wanderlust

One of the best things about travel is the rituals I get to carry home with me. And mate might just be my favorite hehe Mate is so much more than a drink in Argentina. It’s social currency!!! It’s how people start their mornings, pass their afternoons, and show someone they care. It’s communal in a way that feels almost countercultural in a world where everything is increasingly individual. I even have a friend I met in Argentina that pointed out how cool it was to see the local teenagers catching the sunset together with mate in hand vs a pack of beers like so many of us see in our own cultures.. and that’s a point that has truly never left me since :) Let me know… have you ever tried mate?? Did I miss anything?🧉🇦🇷

The internet doesn't show you the comedown of long-term travel.. but let’s talk about it. After 8 more months on the road, I have built some of the most unexpected, most meaningful connections of my life. People I met in hostels, on trails, in cities I'd never even heard of a year ago. And somehow, in the way that long term travel does, we kept finding each other. Making memories that still don't feel completely real when I look back at them. And then, one by one, we all started saying our see you laters. Dispersing back to our own corners of the world, our own next chapters. And I stood there watching it happen and thought… yeah. It's time. That's the thing about closing out a season this full. The crash is REAL. When you've been living at that kind of pitch, your body and your heart eventually send you the bill. And mine came due all at once. The best chapters always leave you a little wrecked on the way out, ya know?? But I think I needed to feel that. Because boyyy does it means it mattered <3

You know those places you walk into and you immediately feel like you belong?? Like you’re part of something bigger than yourself?! That's what @SHKODRA HOSTEL did from day one. Erjon and Rob have built something that genuinely reflects how much they love what they do. A whole experience that they've poured themselves into from the tours they've curated to the way they show up for every single person who walks through the door. And that’s exactly why this place draws in the people who are here for the right reasons. Who will jump into freezing water and hike until their legs give out and stay up too late talking about life. If you’re heading to Albania, Shkodra Hostel is a MUST. Book the tours. Put yourself in good hands. Let them show you what this place is made of 🫶🫶

The Peaks of the Balkans might just be the best trek you've never heard of.. which is exactly why, before I share my itinerary, I have something I need to say!!! 📢📢 This trail is still relatively untouched. As this trek grows in popularity (and it will) it becomes our responsibility to show up for it the right way. Leave no trace. Stay on the marked trails. Support the local guesthouses. Respect the land and the people who call it home. The best way to make sure places like this stay this way is to love them properly. So, yes, go.. but GO WITH CARE!! Now, here is exactly how I spent my 9 days on the trail: 📍 Day 1: Theth → Valbona 📍 Day 2: Valbona → Cerem via the Persllopi Pass (one of the most spectacular routes on the entire trail) 📍 Day 3: Cerem → Doberdol 📍 Day 4: Out & back to Gjeravica (Kosovo's highest peak) before returning to Doberdol 📍 Day 5: Doberdol → Milishevc (with the option to stand at the tri-point where all three countries meet at once) 📍 Day 6: Milishevc → Babino Polje 📍 Day 7: Babino Polje → Plav, then transfer to Vusanje 📍 Day 8: Day trip into Grebaje Valley (we did a three peaks hike and I have nooo words) 📍 Day 9: Vusanje → Theth SAVE this to plan your next alpine adventure ;)

BRO. WTF WAS THAT HAHAHA The greased pole alone had me questioning the ABSURDITY of this event and how things lined up in my life for me to be here experiencing it??? Like I'm sorry but "I can't talk right now I'm watching people try to climb a fully greased pole to retrieve a ham before getting OBLITERATED by thousands of tomatoes in Spain" is not a sentence I ever thought would apply to my real life. Still combing pieces of tomato out of my hair a week later lmaooo 🍅🍅🍅

One of the most underrated treks in all of South America, and it's in… Brazil 🇧🇷 📍Chapada Diamantina National Park, Bahia, Brazil 🥾 3-day Vale do Pati circuit 🏔️ Difficulty: Moderate. The terrain is varied with some big climbs, and we had quite a bit of rain. But it’s totallyyyy doable for anyone with a decent fitness base 🌿 Highlights: open valley plains, river swims, Atlantic forest, caves, and a final viewpoint that is truly next level My tips ⤵️ - Do it with Chapada Trekking Montanhismo as they handle everything, including transfers, meals, and accommodations with local families in the valley - Pack light but smart! You're carrying your bag all three days. - There are natural water sources along the trail to refill your water bottles - Pack a swimsuit! You have so many opportunities to jump in and cool off. DM me with any questions, always happy to help 💕

Let’s talk about the parts of full-time travel no one romanticizes. I wouldn't trade this path for anything… but I also won’t pretend it’s flawless.
This lifestyle stretches you. It asks you to grow faster than you planned. It asks you to trust yourself more than you ever have. And some days? It asks a lot. But that’s what makes it meaningful.
That’s what makes it yours. So if you’re also navigating the messy middle of this life, I hope you know you’re not alone. The grief and the overwhelm are part of the story too… not a sign you’re failing. They’re proof you’re building something brave.

The travel world seems to have its own unspoken rulebook and I've spent enough time in it now to know which ones I agree with and which ones I don’t. Some of these took years to arrive at, learning them the hard way or over and over. Some of them I've always known somewhere deep down but needed enough life to happen before I felt sure enough about them. And some, I’m sure, I’ll change my mind about once again after another few years of all of this. Bc the truth is, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I’M DOING!! There is still SO much more to learn! What I do know, though, is that I’m becoming increasingly more comfortable with that fact and boy does that feel goooood 🌿

Felt like it was time for another proper helloooo 🤍 So, hi there, I'm Sierra! A full-time traveler, content creator, and someone who left a conventional path a few years ago to build a life that actually felt like mine. I've spent the last few years figuring out how to work, create, and support myself from anywhere in the world. And documenting all of it along the way! This page is equal parts travel diary and honest conversation. You'll find outdoor adventures, real talk about nomadic life, a peek into my brain around growth and learning throughout it all, and group trip experiences so we can do all this dope ass stuff together hahahah (More info about my next one in Greece in my b!0 eeek 🎉) And I just wanna say, you are SO much more capable than you might think, and I hope I can continue to help you see it 🥹 Thank you for joining the journey, I can’t wait to see what’s next 🌎

I think we've normalized a level of stimulation that is seriously working against us. And the scary part is you don't even feel it happening. You just slowly start to feel a little more foggy, a little less sharp, a little further from yourself. And you chalk it up to being tired or busy or just the way things are. But what if it's not? I'm not coming at you with a hot take about phones being evil or telling you to go live in the woods (I clearly have a complicated relationship with the internet and I'm not pretending otherwise 😅) I'm just saying. The quiet might be worth trying every once and a while!

The audacity of getting camera shy at this point in my life hahahahah It’s so bizarre to me that I will hike alone in a foreign country but filming in front of my friends is what sends me 😭 Like, people assume that the longer you do this, the more the nerves just… disappear. BUT NO HUNNYYY. I get embarrassed and short circuit and freeze up in front of the camera just like any of the rest of us ☠️☠️

If Chapada Diamantina isn't on your Brazil itinerary yet… let this be your sign to ADD IT 🇧🇷 The Vale do Pati Circuit is a 3-day trek through one of the most untouched and underrated landscapes in all of South America. We're talking dramatic valley views, hidden waterfalls, ancient caves, and open plains that stretch as far as you can see. All inside a national park that has been protected for nearly 40 years. Here's what made this trip genuinely special: 🌿 João, our guide, who knows this land deeply.. and that shows in every detail of the experience. 🌿 The logistics are completely taken care of. Each day on the trail, João prepared fresh picnic lunches for the group. Each night, we stayed in the homes of local families living in the valley who cooked our breakfasts and dinners. 🌿 A completely different side of Brazil. While the beaches get all the attention, this is the kind of place that reminds you just how vast and varied this country really is. For anyone who wants to trek this region without having to figure it all out alone, Chapada Trekking Montanhismo is the team to go with. They handle your transfers, accommodations, meals, and guiding so all you have to do is show up and take it all in 😉

Okay so I clearly have a lot of feelings about Latin America 😂 But seriously, after spending most of my life there from late 2023 to now, and more experiences than I could ever fit into a single post later… I sat down and ranked my absolute top 10. And I put them all on the blog. We’re talking everything from trekking some of the most remote circuits in Peru to roadtripping one of the most otherworldly landscapes in the world. Adventures I’d never even heard of before I showed up and moments I still think about ALL. THE. TIME. Some of them made it into this post, but honestly the ones I didn’t mention might be the best ones. So if Latin America is on your list (or you’re just living vicariously through mine for now) go check it out. Full top 10 is on the blog. You know where to find it 🔗🔗🔗

If the last 8 months taught me anything, it's that the best travel moments are the ones you share with people who just get it!! 😩 SO. Me and my friend @Emily 🌞 Adventure + Travel are taking YOU to Greece and we are not holding back on this itinerary. We're talking sea to summit across 10 days of the most epic, varied adventures Greece has to offer. 📆 September 19-28, 2026 Here's a taste of what we have planned: ⛪ Hiking the Great Meteoron trails to mountaintop monasteries in Meteora 🏔️ Summiting to the mythical Dragon Lake of Tymfi 🧗‍♀️ Canyoning and abseiling through an untouched gorge 👟 Hiking the world record-holding Vikos Gorge 🌊 Swimming in naturally formed limestone pools 🚣‍♂️ Kayaking and beach hopping the Ionian coastline 👨‍🍳 A traditional Greek cooking class on day one bc YUM And we wrap it all up in Parga (one of Greece's best kept secrets) with good food, good people, and so many memories that will take an entire year to actually process hahahah I genuinely cannot wait to share this one with you 🇬🇷 Full trip details at the link in bio!!

We’ll spend an entire week glamping in the jungle, exploring waterfalls, flowing through yoga, and connecting with nature (and each other) in the most beautiful ways. Head to the 🔗 in my b!0 to lock in your spot (only a few left!) and come make some memories with us!!! ✈️💛
