I just know I can’t be the only one who struggles with this question❤️ Sometimes my heart and my brain have to catch up to each other when I answer and today was one of those times. I was filming an appointment to bring you along for something I’m doing, and this question always knocks the wind out of me for a second when I’m at the doctor. When I looked back to edit the appointment I realized what had happened. She was so kind about it, but somehow you have to explain the worst thing to ever happen to you and continue on like it wasn’t. But I think that’s what grief is, no matter the loss- the world keeps moving forward while you try to keep up and you wonder how everyone else is continuing when your world has shattered. I’m so proud of all of us ❤️ I wanted to share this because the world puts a timeline on grief- but I’m 6 years out from one late pregnancy loss, and 10 months from another, and the grief still takes my breath away most days. I hold so much joy. And also, grief is a part of my story. Wanted you to know that whatever timeline you’re on, is normal and real. I’m so sorry if you understand how hard this question is. I haven’t really seen how hard a simple question at the doctor can be to answer talked about, it’s not simple for all of us. Thanks for being here- it’s the space on the internet where we keep learning how to navigate joy and grief together 😘

Say it with me: in 2026, we’re not settling for health plan providers who raise their prices but put in zero effort to do better! There was a time when today’s shopping trip for shorts would have ended so badly internally- but it doesn’t now that I shop with my toddler. To her, getting bigger clothes means she’s growing up. It’s a normal thing to get the next size up. So when my shorts *did not* fit today, it was a no problem, silly thing that made her laugh and laugh. I’ve promised myself, and her (even though she doesn’t know it), that I won’t have negative reactions about the appearance of my body in front of her. And instead, I try to talk to myself like I hope one day she talks to herself. Today when my mind was going off on how big I thought my legs looked and the cellulite coming out of the tight shorts, I said, “I love how strong my legs feel.” And then my internal story shifted. Speaking to myself the way I hope my daughter speaks to herself heals a part of me that diet culture broke. I really believe we have the power to create moments where our children see their mothers and women around them love themselves- and break the cycle so they grow up speaking lovingly to themselves, too. Here’s to more giggles in the dressing room 😉 Drop a ❤️ if you’re in for raising a new generation of girls who love themselves.

#Ad. Keeping up with a four-year-old takes a lot of energy, and we've learned that showing up as our best selves starts with prioritizing how we rest. To protect our peace and stay connected, we’ve built a nightly routine around a few gentle non-negotiables. Before it's officially bedtime, we love winding down by gathering under the covers to read a story together. When it is time for lights out, my husband and I always head to bed at the exact same time. Life gets so busy, so ending the day side-by-side is our intentional way to reconnect and remind ourselves that we are always tackling life as a team. We also swear by a couple of practical secrets for undisturbed sleep: using separate blankets, and investing in a MOLECULE mattress. Because he's an early bird and I'm not, our MOLECULE mattress beautifully absorbs movement so I can stay fast asleep when he slips out of bed in the morning. Finding what anchors your night can change your whole tomorrow. What does your evening routine look like? 👇🤍 #MoleculePartner @MOLECULE Sleep

Follow ashleyklemieux for a community who talks about this stuff ❤️ Wasn’t prepared for this Bluey episode and wanted to share 😭❤️When a cartoon heals a little part of you… Was watching Bluey with my 4 year old when I realized what this episode was about, and being a few months out from our late pregnancy loss, it was honestly everything I needed to hear. What I love most about their conversation about why Bluey’s aunt doesn’t have a baby and is sad is that, Chili (the mom), doesn’t end with “everything happens for a reason”, or anything else to try to bright side the situation. She simply acknowledges that it’s a hard situation without trying to fix it. Having my daughter see her own lived experience in a character that she loves is so impactful. These are great moments to talk about loss with your kids. Kids benefit by seeing what they’re working through mirrored in books, movies, shows. This is why talking about pregnancy loss, infertility, and all that comes with it matters so much. Sending ❤️❤️❤️

It’s not often talked about- pregnancy loss and dealing with weight gain, but without the happy ending to go along with it. My body feels different, my clothes are too small, and it’s been hard for me to accept this part. Trying on clothes with my toddler heals a little part of me, because she doesn’t care about any of that. She just wants to know if it has pockets 😂🥹 Having a daughter, I’m so intentional about staying neutral when trying on clothes because I know she’s watching my reactions, hearing my words, learning how to speak to herself. I never comment about my body, but it doesn’t mean the thoughts don’t come. As I was internally upset about my body, I heard a little, “that’s gorgeous”! As I was trying on clothes that are a bigger size than what I wore earlier this year. Through the eyes of my toddler, either an outfit fits or it doesn’t, and the story doesn’t have to be bigger than that. After I was done trying on clothes, she walked in front of the mirror and spun around *exactly* how I had just been doing. She smiled and said, “my outfit is cute!” Our kids need to see women who accept themselves. And those women, can be us. ❤️ Thought I’d reshare this for a holiday reminder. Who else is trying to heal their diet culture wounds through breaking the cycle for their kids? And PS- buy pants that fit. It feels so good 😘

This man has wanted one more baby for so long, but we were content and made peace with having one after a long road of getting our current toddler here. Just after his 40th birthday, life shocked us. I think our reactions were eerily similar… just pure shock 😂 He’s already named the baby, I don’t think I have a shot at changing his mind. Grateful he’s the dad to my babies. Happy 40th 🥳💕

Trying on clothes with my toddler heals a little part of me that diet culture got to🥹 Having a daughter, I’m so intentional about staying neutral when trying on clothes because I know she’s watching my reactions, hearing my words, learning how to speak to herself. I never comment about my body, but it doesn’t mean the thoughts don’t come. Just as I was starting internally criticizing my body and cellulite while trying on suits for an upcoming speaking engagement, the little words, “I love it mama!” reminded me that we’re not born hating our bodies. It’s something we’re taught. As I view myself through the eyes of my toddler, either an outfit fits or it doesn’t, and the story doesn’t have to be bigger than that. After I was done trying on clothes, she walked in front of the mirror and spun around *exactly* how I had just been doing. The word I keep hearing from this community and friends, is “overwhelmed.” I get asked, “how do I handle grief in front of my kids?” From what’s going on in the world to your personal lives, I know you’re carrying a lot right now. Tonight I want you to know, that it’s okay to be human. I wanted to repost this from when we were baking treats for my grandpa who was in his final days of life. I started crying. My toddler saw. She asked if I was sad. Many parents want to hide their tears from their kids, of course we do. It’s been shown that up to 90% of parents don’t know how to talk about grief with their kids, nobody has taught us how and we can barely do it with ourselves! But crying in front of your kids is actually a positive tool to building their own emotional resilience and intelligence- They don’t need to know all the details. Share this post with your partner and yourself to come back to. ⭐️4 reasons I allow myself to cry in front of my toddler as a MS in grief and bereavement, and a mom: 1️⃣ It helps them better trust their intuition- when they notice your feelings and what they perceive to be happening is validated, it teaches them their instincts can be trusted and are accurate. 2️⃣ It teaches them that emotions are normal and that sadness, like any other emotions, doesn’t need to be hidden or feared. 3️⃣ It creates emotional safety. When you acknowledge your feelings, it helps your child learn it’s safe for them to do the same. It shows them they’re allowed to express themselves in the home and it deepens connection and trust. 4️⃣ It helps them build empathy. My 2 year old thought to get me her favorite snack of applesauce to “help me”, and then kept hugging me. This helps them build compassion and emotional intelligence. Send this to yourself and share with your community so more moms know it’s okay to be human in front of their kids. You don’t have to hide your feelings❤️

Truthfully, I needed it more than she did 🥹❤️ If you have littles starting school, you might want to send them off with a “love button”. This is our first time away from each other for school, and I truly can’t believe we’re entering this chapter! I drew hearts on all three of us, and told her that anytime we missed each other we just needed to press the heart button and it will send the other person love that we can feel. She loved it so much she had us each take individual back to school photos showing our heart. She went right to playing at drop off and we cried our way back to the car 😂 I need to know if this gets any easier because the emotional hang over I have is crazy. We need an emotional support back to school group chat! I saw this on the internet years ago and loved it. Let me know if you give it a try. What back to school rituals do you have?

I keep thinking about the amount of times the last two months after our loss that I have struggled getting out of bed, or had a really hard moment, and I’d get a text or call right then from a friend who was “just thinking about me.” They don’t know they were the reason I got up that day. This is your sign to reach out to the people who happen to cross your mind and to not suppress a generous thought. Worst case is they feel loved. My focus this year is to tell others when I’m thinking of them. This is the side of female relationships I want people to see- the side that helps heal, nurtures, supports, loves. There’s nothing more powerful than women carrying each other forward. We heal faster together ❤️

The recent shift from family planning to family raising has felt like a bit of a sucker punch to be honest. Today was the first doctor appointment I’ve had where we talked about hormone support, instead of fertility and pregnancy. I feel grateful for the time we spent growing our family. For our miracle girl who joined us. Sad for the two sons who didn’t make it earth side. Relief that I won’t be pregnant again. Nostalgia thinking about when I was, and knowing I won’t ever experience it again. It really all did happen so fast, and we spent so many years trying to grow what we currently have. I think this is a part of motherhood so many of us feel but aren’t prepared for. A shift in the season, a shift of focus. I opened my makeup drawer today and my stash of so many pregnancy and ovulation tests were staring at me and I knew it was time to let them go. I even found old fertility treatments. Goodbye to those I won’t miss them 😅 My body feels like it can take a breath. And it also will miss the rush of knowing a new life is inside. The kicks, the changes, the growth. And now, it can rest. The end of an era, and the start of a new one. Has anyone else experienced this feeling?
