A few hours after we moved in, there was a fire in the apartment directly above us (everyone is safe 🙏🏼❤️) The fire broke water pipes, which caused flooding in our new home. We had to gather our essentials and spend the night in a hotel room. Ironically, (but also by some miracle) the moving company canceled our move on Saturday, so when the flood happened, only 1/3 of our things were moved in. The apartment team has been SO kind and accommodating. We spent one night essentially homeless, but the next day they had a smaller unit available for us for an immediate move in. It’s not our home, but it’s a roof over our heads. It’s a temporary home while we wait for next steps. It has been an exceptionally hard weekend. I won’t lie - we feel pretty defeated. We know there are silver linings, and we are grateful for them. But I’m going to take a little break from posting while I sort through these next few days.
