Two and a half weeks out from a complex nerve surgery on my nubbin’. This surgery was a big one—complicated, very painful, and necessary. A few days in the hospital, then back home to rest and heal. I’m struggling with this one on all fronts. After many years of pain and surgeries and trying to find solutions, I find myself feeling depleted and heavy. So I’m leaning back into all the things that people say that make me roll my eyes but are true - take it moment by moment, breathe, and remember that everything is temporary. Recovery is just beginning, but todays’s big win was getting out for a car ride with my partner for a few minutes and seeing that the world *is* indeed still there, and it hasn’t actually all disappeared as I’ve become one with my couch while keeping my leg elevated. 😆 Baby steps (or hops, in my case 😉), day by day. 💜

It’s the little things. 😉 After my stroke there was so much (and still is) to relearn and adjust to, but for whatever reason refilling the coffee pods was the thing emotionally that would break me and made me feel so hopeless sometimes. Today, I can do it without a second thought. There are good days, bad days, but super grateful for this progress. 💜

It’s the little things. 😉 After my stroke there was so much (and still is) to relearn and adjust to, but for whatever reason refilling the coffee pods was the thing emotionally that would break me and made me feel so hopeless sometimes. Two months ago I had another complex nerve surgery on my nubbin’ - healing from it has been the most challenging surgery yet, but I had incredible support through it and feel like there might be light at the end of the tunnel. 💜 The other night I was cleared to try my leg back on (to see if swelling had gone down enough or if I might need a whole new prosthetic) - and while I could only keep it on for a couple of minutes because of pain, it was so fun to just dance for a second and have fun. 😉🦿 Thanks @fredagainagainagainagainagain @skepta @plaqueboymax for the best song to bop around to this summer 🎶

First time back in the mountains walking after surgery a few months ago. Recovery has been hard, but trying to get back to more things I love. 🌳🌲🏔️
