Update on this fiasco (dirty laundry): They are going to take 7 days to check how much they should refund me between economy and first class. The only added apology they did was give us $200 coupon per person for future flight.
Their “accounting team” just came back with $210.84 as the price difference between the economy and first class seats. Thats the refund they think they owe us. Alaska Airlines is the worst.
@AlaskaAir I paid for 4 First Class tickets from RDU to Seattle. After checking our bags and arriving at the gate to get on the plane, we were informed our seats had been given to other passengers that got upgraded (what?!) We were involuntarily downgraded to economy seats. I keep being offered $100 as compensation, which is insulting. The difference between economy and first class tickets is much more than that. I keep getting the run around.
I finally found a business idea in the car space that I’m excited about. Will share more when we’re ready to launch.
Sell for $10M. Then if cash flow is needed buy JEPQ which yields ~11% cash flow and grows with the market. And you can borrow against your stock portfolio as needed at low rates. Usually only 1-1.5% over SOFR (~4.5% - 4.75% currently).
I just spent $17,000 on a domain / name for this.
Today, I'm announcing a software tool + service for small business owners. I built and sold my last company for $52,000,000. From idea to exit, it took almost exactly 4 years. We scaled to 150+ people, and in that entire time, I only worked on the business 782 hours in total. I know because I tracked every hour. To do that, it isn’t hustle. It’s systems. That looks like documented processes, clear delegation, and the right people running well-defined systems. That’s how you stop working in your business and start working on it. After working with tons of founders, I noticed the same pattern every time. Everyone knows they should have SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), but almost no one actually makes them. Not because founders are lazy—but because documenting systems is slow, painful, and always gets pushed to “later.” So my co-founder and I built the thing we always wished existed. Outliner lets you document SOPs while you work. You turn it on, you do your process, and you talk through what you’re doing—raw is fine. Outliner uses AI to turn that recording into clean, structured, usable SOPs automatically. No scripts. No polish. No perfect explanations—just real processes, captured in real time. You can use the software yourself, or our team can document everything for you. Either way, your business finally runs on systems, not memory. If you want a business that works without constant effort, use Outliner. 👉 outliner.com/
We're changing the name of the company! A few months ago I announced I was building a collector car marketplace called QuickShift. Right after announcing, I got hit with a trademark dispute. That's why I've been quiet about it. It was from a finance company. They lend money, we sell cars. Apparently that's the same thing.🙄 Could we have fought it? Absolutely. Trust me, I wanted to. The claim was ridiculous. But I remembered something: "Never wrestle with a pig. You both get dirty, but the pig likes it." That's exactly what legal fights become... months of lawyers and distractions. I wanted to spend our time building, not fighting over a name. So QuickShift is now finallap.com/ Will launch later this year. I'll share more soon.
I’ve been posting on Twitter / X for over 16 years. Many posts have gone viral on business and entrepreneurship. 54k followers here. My Instagram by contrast…. In the last 10 weeks I went from 19k followers to 64k followers. I posted 9 reels in that time. Needless to say I’m having more fun on Instagram lately.
What are the best agencies for a full marketplace build-out? Need website, (eventually app), email, and stripe integration. I want to move fast. 🏎️ Also looking for a designer for the brand and UI.
