DIY fountain using terracotta pots. ☺️ We had this idea last week and the challenge was to use what we already had. I guess my terracotta obsession really paid off because we didn’t buy anything for this project besides the pump. 👏🏼 The key is to find 3 shallow pots slightly larger than the last. The possibilities are endless. We hid the pump in the bottom pot that we notched out for water flow. Continued the hose through each hole and used a water proof seal as we worked our way up. The pump we used has a few different head attachments & flow speed. I’m slightly obsessed with how this little project turned out! I’ll link what we used on my stories. 🤍

outdoor kitchen part 2! We wrapped the entire frame with hardie board to prep for concrete countertops & thin brick. We used a mixture of a jig saw, skill saw (with a masonry blade) & a utility knife to cut the boards. I really wanted to add an arch so George framed it out with 2x4s. We used leftover hardie board & slightly bent it around each 2x4 to finish it off. I’m in love with the way it’s coming together! Next up we are going to DIY concrete countertops so stay tuned!

The other day I asked chatGPT to show me what my awning would look like painted black and white stripes. Which then led me to go get paint the next day & paint it. I’m in love! 🥰 thanks for the idea @ericamuellerhome 😘

George is making all my outdoor kitchen dreams come true. 🥰🥹 I’ll be adding thin brick to front and backsplash. I’m also thinking about DIYing concrete countertops?! I can’t wait to see it all come together!

Homemade scalloped potatoes are little more work but so worth it! You’ll never eat boxed potatoes again. Promise. 🤌🏼

here’s what you need:
half an onion
3 cloves garlic
1 & 1/2 cups heavy cream
1/2 cup chicken broth
salt & pepper
smoked paprika & dried basil
6 Yukon gold potatoes
gruyere cheese
parmesan cheese

how to make it:
heat your cast iron & add olive oil
add chopped onion & garlic to the pan
sauté until translucent
stir in heavy cream, chicken broth, S&P
bring to a boil and then reduce to medium heat. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
Add potato slices and continue cooking for another 15 minutes or until the potatoes are tender. Be sure to stir a couple times before adding the cheese. I use freshly grated Parmesan and Gruyère. I like to sprinkle a little smoked paprika & dried basil to the top. Broil in the oven for 3-5 minutes (depending on your oven)
enjoy!

We have countertops! And let me tell ya, this was a lot easier than I made it seem in my head. Huge thank you to @zcounterform for gifting us everything to make this possible! Their square edge forms were so easy to work with and the concrete mixed up like a dream. I love that you can adjust the color of the mix to your liking with their pigment additive. Honestly, everything turned out so good and I feel like anyone can tackle this DIY! Next up, brick & I’d love your help with picking out the grout color! 🫶🏼

Happy Earth Day 🌱 Did you know if you place painted rocks around your strawberries plants before they produce berries, it will help keep birds from eating your berries?! Once the birds peck the rock, they’re more than likely not coming back for more. ☺️🍓

Started the day with zero plans yesterday. One thing about me - I’m a huge planner, but I’m trying to lean into my spontaneous side. I think she’s doing well. Also, Ivan is crazy. The water was freezing! 😆

Looking for a last minute Christmas gift? Make my rosemary & roasted garlic bread. It’s so easy & so delicious. Homemade gifts are always a good idea. 🥰
Merry Christmas friends. ❤️

You’ll need:
1.5 cups lukewarm water
2 tsp active dry yeast
2.5 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp salt
Drizzle of honey
1 whole head of garlic
Fresh rosemary
Olive oil for drizzling

roasted garlic:
Preheat your oven to 400°
Cut the top of the garlic head & place into your foil. Top with olive oil and a sprinkle of salt. Cover with leaving a small hole at the top for ventilation & roast in the oven for 40 minutes.
While the garlic is roasting prep your bread:
Combine water, yeast, honey, flour & salt in a bowl. Stir until combined & cover with a towel and allow to proof for 2 hours.
Once your garlic has cooled chop that & your rosemary up.
After you’ve allow your dough to rise for the 2 hours:
Preheat your oven to 400°
Flour your surface and fold your dough over. Flatten your dough with your hands & add garlic, rosemary, olive oil & then fold each corner into one another. I repeat this step 2-3 times while adding more garlic & rosemary after each fold.
Line your loaf pan with parchment paper & place your loaf in the pan. Score with a knife & drizzle with olive oil.
Bake at 400° for 25 minutes and then another 20 minutes at 375°.
Once your loaf cools wrap with parchment paper, ribbon, & fresh rosemary. 🥰

Still not over this project. The added storage, warmth, and character completely transformed our kitchen. After 17 years of living here (and using these doors maybe twice), closing them off was 100% the right call. 🥰 Swipe for the before.
