I don’t think this one was thought through very well 🙄

#repost because this is still going on and only gotten worse for the community!

Did you know that on September 22, 2025, Greg Abbott signed Senate Bill 8 (SB 8) into law in Texas, often called the “bathroom bill”? This law forces people in government owned buildings, including public schools, universities, prisons, jails, and other state facilities, including airports, to use restrooms, locker rooms, and changing areas based on the sex they were assigned at birth.

This law is framed as being about the “safety” of cisgender women, but in reality it targets trans people, especially trans women! It pushes the false narrative that cis women are unsafe simply because a trans woman exists in the same restroom. There was no widespread issue before this law, yet now the risk of harm is higher! Trans women being forced into men’s restrooms face harassment, bullying, or worse. And what about the very real possibility of cis men walking into women’s restrooms and claiming another identity? Has that been considered?

Instead of protecting anyone, this law manufactures fear where none existed.

And now, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has taken things even further, encouraging people to report others by filling out forms if they suspect a trans person is using a restroom. This turns everyday Texans into bathroom police, promotes profiling and harassment, and puts trans people at even greater risk simply for trying to exist in public.

Why create conflict, fear, and danger when there wasn’t a problem to begin with?

I thought this was a free country? Yet I can’t use the restroom that aligns with my gender identity, because people don’t agree with how we want to present ourselves in the world. I mean I know a lot of people don’t agree with rapists and pedophiles being in our government either, yet that’s still happening. Why is the trans community such a target?

This is what it looks like when they want trans people to use the restroom that doesn’t align with their identity. It starts to make it hard for us to want to go out in public life. They say these laws are for safety, yet now they are just putting more people at risk to not be safe when entering a restroom.

We all know the real purpose of these laws is to make trans people fear public life, make trans people fear to be seen and visible. But we are loud and we are proud of who we are, shit we worked hella hard to get here 🏳️‍⚧️🫶 and we aren’t going anywhere!

It’s time to normalize Gender Affirming Care 🏳️‍⚧️

I started hormones when I was 25 years old in 2016. It changed my life. It gave me the confidence I always knew I had inside.

Did you know…..

1. Gender affirming care has been around for over a century. Doctors in Germany were providing gender affirming surgeries and hormone research as early as the 1910s–1930s, notably at Magnus Hirschfeld’s Institute for Sexual Science.

2. Hormone therapy is not new or experimental.
Estrogen and testosterone have been prescribed for decades! Testosterone since the 1930s–40s and estrogen shortly after.

3. Gender-affirming care is evidence based and improves well being of a person. Major medical organizations agree that gender affirming care reduces dysphoria, depression, and suicide risk and improves overall quality of life when it’s patient led and appropriately prescribed.

Gender Affirming Care Saves Lives, let’s not take that away from the community! #transrightsarehumanrights

This is who Greg Abbott wants in the women’s restroom 🏳️‍⚧️

Pretty crazy, right?

Did you know on September 22, 2025, Greg Abbott signed into law Senate Bill 8 (SB 8) in Texas, commonly referred to as the “bathroom bill.” The law requires people in government-owned buildings, including public schools, universities, prisons and jails, and other state facilities, LIKE THE AIRPORT — to use restrooms, locker rooms and changing facilities that match the sex assigned at birth.

This law is supposed to be for the “safety” of cis women in the restroom. Attacking mostly Trans Women and not wanting them to be allowed in the restroom they belong. Creating this scenario that cis women don’t feel safe if a trans women is in their restroom. When there really wasn’t any issues before, now I for see there being more when a trans women is in the men’s restroom and gets bullied or even worse..or when a cis man walks into the women’s restroom posing as a trans man? Thought about that one?

Why create conflict, when there wasn’t one to begin with?

With 10 years comes a lot of change 🫶

Love isn’t a race. Your person, or your people, will come when it’s time. Maybe it’s love, maybe it’s friendship. Either way, do what makes you happy, connect with different people, learn to love yourself and spend time alone! You’re a beautiful human being, always remember that 💕

We’re all on our own path, and that’s what makes life so special 💟

It’s crazy to think that photo was taken my senior year of high school in 2010! About 16 years ago, oh how times and things have changed. I never could imagine I would end up where I’m at today. Happily married to a beautiful women and living my truth out loud 🫶

Safe travel tips for the LGBTQ community 🏳️‍🌈

 1. Know where you’re going!

Before we book a trip, we always check how safe and welcoming a destination is for our community. Knowing the local laws and overall vibe helps us travel with more confidence. 🫶

2. Stay where we’re welcomed

We try to book hotels or stays that openly support LGBTQ travelers. It makes such a difference when you feel seen and safe where you’re sleeping. 🏳️‍⚧️😴

3. Keep documents and ID secure

As trans and queer travelers, we’ve learned to be extra prepared with IDs and documents. Smooth check-ins and border crossings mean less stress and more time to enjoy the trip. 🏳️‍🌈🌟

4. Connect with the local LGBTQ community

Wherever we go, we love finding local LGBTQ spaces like cafés, events, or just friendly hangouts. It reminds us that no matter where we are in the world, community is everywhere. 🏳️‍⚧️🙏🏳️‍🌈

5. Have Fun!

We deserve to travel and experience life just like anyone else! 🏳️‍🌈🫶🏳️‍⚧️✈️

Our feeds and hearts are really heavy right now, so we’re leaning on community and encouraging others to do the same. As humans, we have an innate drive to connect; it’s how we survive. Here are some ways you can connect with others if you’re feeling alone:

- Is there something you’re passionate about? Art, music, fitness, games, sports, social justice, books, food? Search for groups or classes in your area. You can also find those communities on social media, you just need to search for them and encourage your algorithm to recalibrate what it shows you.

- If you can, shop local. Farmer’s markets, small businesses, and co-ops

- Volunteer: food banks, animal shelters, houseless shelters, libraries, nursing homes, hospitals, youth centers, etc. Search for volunteer opportunities in your area.

- Visit a public library. Community also lives within books.

- Start your own online community. Have you been afraid to share your art, your voice, or your interests? We are all craving connection. Maybe someone is searching for exactly what you have to share.

Thank you for being a part of my community. I lean on you more than you know. ♥️🫂

Everyone deserves to be seen as who they are 🏳️‍⚧️

Seeing other trans individuals share their stories online is what saved me and showed me I wasn’t alone. Now 10 years later here I am! Living my truth. Visibility is so important for so many reasons. We as a community need to keep showing up for one another. In whatever way we feel like we can.

We are all human and we all show up and use our voices differently. But most of us seem like we’re trying to get the same message out there, so let’s work together and show the world that trans people are just people. Trying to live, love and survive in this world too 🏳️‍⚧️
