Ten years ago, she pitched on our stage. Now she’s coming back as a Champion.
That’s right, we’re so excited to announce that @tarabosch will be joining us as a Champion at The Odlum Brown Forum Pitch Finale!
This is truly a full-circle moment. Ten years ago, Tara took the stage as a Finalist and was named the inaugural winner of The Odlum Brown Forum Pitch. She then went on to scale her company into the fastest-growing CPG brand ever created by a solo woman entrepreneur.
What began as a basement kitchen experiment inspired by a conversation with her grandmother became @smartsweets, the brand that redefined candy for a new generation. After dropping out of college and making deliveries from the back of her car, Tara grew SmartSweets into the #1 low-sugar candy brand in North America.
To date, the company has generated over $1 billion in sales and helped consumers kick more than 5.6 billion grams of sugar. And just four years after launch, SmartSweets was acquired for a staggering $360 million by TPG Growth.

Big news! Our CEO, Kirsten Koppang Telford, has been named to @vancouvermagazine’s Power 50 for the second year in a row!

Think of one woman entrepreneur whose work you believe in, and one person who could open a door. It could be a fellow entrepreneur, a buyer, partner, journalist, funder, or advisor.
Send a warm, specific intro that says what they do and why you’re making the connection.

Fall in love again and again (with AI)
Yesterday, in partnership with @growclass and @camptechco, we hosted The Future of Entrepreneurship: AI in Action, an evening exploring how women entrepreneurs are engaging with and shaping the future of AI in Canada.
Our AI Skills Lab Canada alumnae first took part in group discussions facilitated by Carol Wilder and Jennifer Hufnagel, then showcased how they’re already using their new AI knowledge to spark innovation in their work and businesses.
We were also joined by Karla Congson, CEO and CTO of @agentiiv, Canada’s first fully hybrid Human/AI consultancy. A big thank you to Karla for leading such an insightful conversation on demystifying AI, exploring its latest developments, and sharing actionable tools to help us engage, delegate, and innovate with it.
