It’s a great time to go to Boston! 1. Architecture - visit the BPL to see the inside of one of Boston’s most beautiful buildings for free - sometimes they offer tours too! Check online. 2. History - there are so many historical sites here! Walk the Freedom Trail for free - you can find resources online to guide you with facts. 3. The Charles River - home to sailing classes and kayak rentals, a fun way to see the city. 4. Whale Watching - these tours leave from downtown Boston and take you way-way out on the Atlantic to spot Humpback, minke, or fin whales!  5. Unique tours - You HAVE to take Duck Tour or one of the others like Ghosts and Gravestones -great at night! 6. Shakespeare - in the summer months catch a free Shakespeare show on the Boston Common. 7. Museums - there are SO MANY. I love the MA’AM, ICA, MFA and Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. 8. Live music - there are so many free shows offered on the Boston Common or the Hatch Shell on the Esplanade BUT there are also TONS of ticketed shows happening everywhere throughout the city plus some restaurants like Grace by Mia, Beehive andWally’s Cafe & Jazz Club. 9. Bicycle friendly - Boston is home to so many bike lanes. Visitors and residents can use BlueBikes to explore the city. Take your rental to the Esplanade for a ride along the Charles River. 10. Beer gardens - try Night Shift on the Esplanade or Trillium on the Boston Common. 11. Parks & playgrounds - there are so many, use your maps app to find the one closest to you! My favs: Boston City Hall Plaza Playground, Martin’s Park in the Seaport, and Esplanade Playground. 12. Running - take a spin around the Esplanade or Harborwalk. 13. Food scene - go to any restaurant in the North End (our Italian neighborhood) or a local seafood joint! 14. Shopping - try SoWa, on weekends there’s a market surrounding the garden in Seaport and Fenway. 15. Fenway - a MUST! Go for a tour, a game or a concert.

Would you do the coaster zipline?! We recently went to Montreal for some city fun, but on our way back to the states, we stopped in Québec’s Eastern Townships – a hidden gem for fast fun, relaxation, and delicious food and wine! 🤩 Find this area just north of Vermont in Canada! Here’s what we loved in and around Sutton, QC: 🚀 Fast thrills: Ziplining at Sutton Mountain was so much fun! They have a traditional fast & steep line AND a wild roller coaster zipline. It’s also a huge spot for bikers. ✨ Stargazing: at Diable Vert check out the stars in this super dark zone. The English presentation is on Sundays. 💆‍♀️ Relax: Spa Bolton is a must-do after all the walking in Montréal! You can book a massage inside a little yurt, plunge in the river, or relax in the hammocks and pools. 🍽️ Explore Downtown Sutton: Charming shops, restaurants, cafes and ice cream - it’s so cute. We ate at Microbrasserie À l’Abordage and Sutton Brouërie. 🍷 Wine picnic: Tour and picnic at Château Ste-Agnès, there’s no reason to fly to Napa Valley - this spot is so regal. 🍕 Pizza and craft brews: La Knowlton Co. is known for their wood-fired pizza, I loved the Québecois lager. 🛌 Where to Stay: Le Pleasant Hotel is steps from everything in Downtown Sutton. You’ll love this adventure whether you include Montréal or just head north for nature. Save this post to help plan your next trip! 🇨🇦

Tag who you’re bringing to this! ✨ Boston has a new activity!! #ad We just played Activate (@activategames) and it’s an absolute adrenaline rush! Seriously, we both broke a sweat — and laughed until our sides hurt! 😂 Definitely go play! How it works: There are 11+ interactive rooms to play in with your group. They are high-tech mini arenas with games that react in real-time. The challenges range from difficulty levels 1-10 and you can keep track of your points with a wristband linked to a virtual scoreboard. The logistics: 📍 Location: South Bay Center in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood 🚗 Parking: Free garage parking ⏰ Booking: Walk-ins are welcome, but booking in advance is highly recommended as spots aren't guaranteed. 🧍 Age: The minimum age to play is 6 years old. Games are designed for adults and may be challenging for kids under 10. Ages 6-13: An adult must be present at the facility throughout the entire gaming experience. 👟 What to Wear: Comfortable clothes that you can move around in + sneakers. 🔒 Lockers: Free lockers are provided!

Have you been? I’m obsessed with Montreal! It’s so much fun. 🚗 We took a 5 hour road trip from Boston to check it out during Jazz Fest but found there was so much more to do while there. Ready for the warmest welcome in Canada? Here are my recommendations: 🍽️ Great for Foodies: There’s Gnocchi to-go in Chinese take out boxes, the iconic Montréal-style bagels, classic poutine, and more. Don’t miss dinner at Cadet, they received a Bib Gourmand from the Michelin Guide! ✨ World’s Largest Fireworks Competition: Once a week, Montréal hosts an incredible international fireworks competition, where countries choreograph shows to music. We watched Italy but there are more upcoming shows, some by Switzerland and USA! 🎶 FREE Festivals: The city comes alive with free festivals during the summer season! We absolutely loved Jazz Fest. 🛍️ Great Style, Great Shopping: We felt like there was an effortless chicness to everyone we saw… Montréal has style! Take a stroll through the Mile End neighborhood. It’s packed with boutiques and restaurants – grab a bagel here or try Larry’s for lunch! 🌳 Great City Park: Before you head out, make sure to visit the Kondiaronk lookout in Mount Royal Park for breathtaking views of the city skyline. We spent a day and a half exploring and wished we had more time! But we continued our road-trip in Québec’s Eastern Townships on our way back to the states! More on that in the next tok!

More details ⬇️ I think it wasn’t on my bucket list because I hadn’t done the research. Traveling takes bandwidth! Really though, Portugal is a beautiful no brainer for people flying out of Boston Logan. There are nonstop flights, Delta was around $700. To offset costs we stayed in a hostel in Lisbon, used Amex points, and booked hotels with breakfast included. If you have Portugal questions, drop them in the comments! Itinerary ⬇️ Lisbon (days 1–2): We started with a TukTuk tour to get a feel for the city and a food tour for bifanas, codfish & warm pastel de natas. Sintra (days 3–4): Rented a car, spent two days exploring palaces. Pena Palace + Quinta da Regaleira are a must. We skipped Moorish Castle to enjoy lunch. The coast is 15 min away, have dinner at Azenhas do Mar. Algarve + Lagos (days 5–7): Drive south to the breathtaking coast. The Seven Hanging Valleys trail was a fav for hiking. Stayed in Carvoeiro (dinner at Boneca Bar on the water 🙌). Had an amazing wine lunch at Morgado do Quintão. In Lagos, there are small streets and the Ponta da Piedade boardwalk. We went to Praia do Camilo and took the tunnel to another beach! Comporta (day 8): On the way back north stop in Porto Covo for lunch, then end in chic Comporta. We stayed in Alcácer do Sal (30 min closer & way cheaper). Extra logistics ⬇️ 🚄 Train from airport takes 30 min, saves $$$ vs taxi. 🚗📱 Bolt = local rideshare app. 🚗 Rent a car *after* Lisbon at the airport. 🗺️🅿️ Book lodging *with* parking. 🗣️🙏 Almost everyone speaks English—we got by with obrigada + bom dia. 🥪 Most cafes serve bifanas for a cheap, quick lunch.

Share your favs in Mystic, CT! 👇 I LOVE MYSTIC! There’s so much to do and the coastal charm is strong here. Boston to Mystic, Connecticut is 1 hour and 45 minutes. It’s 2.5 hours from NYC and only 50 minutes from Providence, RI. It’s one of my favorite summer destinations.

Hiked Katahdin? Leave advice in the comments! Katahdin is incredible, but proper prep is key! Here’s what you need to know. 👇 📅 Reservations are a MUST: 🚗 Day Use Parking: Book vehicle entry well in advance via Baxter State Park website (open now for the entire summer). They go fast! ☀️ They recommend going in summer for longer days and warmer weather on top. 🌲 Pick Your Path: Research trails like Abol (steep), Hunt (AT, scenic), and Knife Edge (exposed!). 💪 Train Hard: Focus on cardio, leg strength, and endurance. It’s a long hike with major elevation and scrambling. 🎒 Pack Smart: ✔️ Layers & rain gear & proper shoes ✔️ 2-4L water + filter ✔️ High-energy snacks ✔️ Headlamp & first-aid ✔️ Map/GPS & sun protection ✔️ I like gloves for scrambling 🏕️ Camping: If camping, reserve even earlier for trailhead access. 📵 Off-Grid: There’s no cell service. 🗑️ Leave No Trace: Pack it all out. ⚠️ Know Your Limits: Turn back if needed. The mountain will wait for you next time. #Katahdin #BaxterStatePark #MaineHiking

What did we miss? This is where we went: 🏄‍♀️ Jenness Beach: This beach in Rye is absolute perfection and I would go back. The waves were perfect. We started with breakfast and took a surf lesson with Summer Sessions. They have rentals if you’re already a pro. It was SO much fun. 🍦 Lagos Ice Cream: A must-stop for homemade ice cream with bold, unique flavors (and a great vegan menu!) in Rye. 🛍️ Shopping in Portsmouth: it’s all tax-free! 🦞 Jumping Jays: Super fresh seafood and amazing sauces in downtown Portsmouth. I’d go back to try them all! 🎶 Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club: The ultimate recommendation for live music! This intimate listening room offers incredible performances and full dinner service + bar. Is this what it means to “Live Free?” I loved not having an itinerary and instead asking the locals what to do. #visitnh #livefreenh

How to get there ⬇️🐰🐨🐅🐙🐘 The 3 sculptures are in Boston’s Charlestown neighborhood and if you’re near the USS Constitution you are at a good starting point. “The Wild Table of Love” (in the video) can be found on “Lowney Way” at the corner of Fifth Street underneath the Tobin Bridge (if you were to keep going into the neighborhood here you would end up at Bunker Hill Monument. “The Arms of Friendship” (the one with the big octopus) is next to the USS Constitution, you should see it immediately, it’s so big. “The Hippo Was Hungry to Try New Things” can be found down the dock way past The Anchor. Get Lunch at Dovetail afterward or drinks at The Anchor. Bring your own tea!

Special dates + details 🎄✨➡️ All of these towns are along the water and host incredible holiday events. If you have questions please comment and I will do my best to answer them! Boothbay Harbor, Maine: Super small town with cute shops and amazing light show at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, that starts in mid November! Kenebunkport, Maine: Their holiday event is the Christmas Prelude and it is AMAZING! December 4 - 14. I went with a friend last year and we had the best time. Stay for the whole weekend to really take it in. Portsmouth, New Hampshire: They host a Vintage Christmas with so many events and holiday musicals and plays at the many venues in the area. Many events! Some beginning in mid-November. Candlelight Stroll on weekends, Gingerbread House contest launches November 28! Wickford Village, Rhode Island: Another super small town ideal for a day trip. The Festival of Lights is December 4 - 7. Make a reservation for tea. Newport, Rhode Island: So many events, great shopping, the illuminated boat parade is November 28. Stonington, Connecticut: great lobster trap tree on display from November 22 until January 4. Happy holidays!

Where to see it! ⬇️ 📍 Location: You can find “Boojum Rock” with great views of Boston in the Middlesex Fells Reservation, a large park in Massachusetts. 🚗 Parking: Fellsway East parking lot in Melrose 🥾 Trail: you can take multiple hiking trails to find it, we took the Rock Circuit Trail. 🧭 The Fells has over 100 miles of trails!! Big Views! Short(er) hike in the NH! 🏔️ If you’re looking for an AMAZING payoff without committing to a full-day 4000-footer you must add the Sugarloaf Trail to your list with two summits (but both with similar views): Middle Sugarloaf and North Sugarloaf. ⬇️ The details ⬇️ 🗺️ Trail Name: Sugarloaf Trail (Out-and-Back) 📏 Distance: About 3.5 miles roundtrip 📈 Elevation Gain: Around 1,060 ft 📍 Location: Sugarloaf trailhead is off Zealand Road which is off RT 302 (also known as Crawford Notch Road) ⚠️ Difficulty: Moderate. Starts easy by the Zealand River, but the final ascent to the saddle is steep, and the final push to Middle Sugarloaf includes a short, ladder-like staircase. 🅿️ Parking: Limited and this hike is very popular, especially on weekends. 🤩 Summit Tips: We went to North Sugarloaf first, then hit Middle Sugarloaf last for the big reveal. The wide, open ledges on Middle Sugarloaf are where you’ll find those breathtaking panoramic views of the entire White Mountain range, including the snow-covered Mount Washington when we summited.

The food tour I recommend to everyone visiting Boston is Off the Eaten Path by my Paula. Here’s why I love it so much AND why I would go on it again: 1 - The Food: Paula takes you to all of her favorite spots in Boston’s Italian neighborhood, the North End. This particular tour was over the weekend which is a totally different tour than the one during the week! 2 - The History: she not only spent much of her life here but she continues to uncover stories from the different eras which makes the tour ever evolving. I learn something new every time I take it. 3 - The Architecture: Paula is an architecture lover and if you’re into that she’s happy to share her knowledge. 4 - The Lore: she has stories you would love to hear. 5 - It’s just her: there’s nothing I love more than a hard-working, educated, curious and wonderful human being and that is Paula. She doesn’t hire anyone else because no one else would give a tour as well as she does. So don’t let the lack of social media posts fool you, she doesn’t have time for that! She’s giving tours and learning more about the North End history! You can book it on her website. In the search bar type in: Off the Eaten Path Tours Boston and it will come up.
