September baseball in Boston just hits different. The crisp air, the buzz of Fenway, and the biggest rivalry in sports. Special watching our @cuts homie @duranjarren out there doing his thing.
One of my favorite parts of running @cuts is the people I get to meet along the way.

@alexcosta and I have worked together over the years, but for this Anniversary we wanted to switch it up and do something special. We shot a car giveaway with one of my favorite rides, a custom retro Defender.

I’ve watched Alex get more and more into cars and shooting some epic content, so I reached out for a collab. Turns out he’s a legend and now a good friend.

That’s the real perk of running a brand: the chance to meet new friends and collaborators who are also out there doing cool things.

If you’re grinding, keep going. You never know who you’ll team up with next or how it could unlock the next big piece of your idea.

We’ve always been biz homies, but lately it’s gotten more personal. A few weeks back, he hit me with: “Let’s go to Europe. Get inspired again. Let’s live the brands we’ve built.”⁣

So we did. New cities. Fresh energy. Better food. More walking than expected. Real conversations.⁣

And within the first two days of the trip, we saw people wearing Blenders and Cuts in the wild. No idea who they were. Just out there, living their lives in something we built. Those moments hit different. Because it’s not just about what we create. It’s about how it shows up in the world.⁣

This trip reminded us that it’s not just about building brands. It’s about living the life we set out to create. Becoming the brand. And yeah, sharing it along the way. With each other. With our teams. And with anyone out there dreaming of starting something of their own.⁣

We've made a lot of changes to the business since tariffs hit and our CEO went viral on CNN. In the latest episode of our "Behind the Brand" vlog we are giving you a sneak peak into our first foray into Made in America manufacturing.
Fun fact: Brennan (VP of Marketing) was actually the first person I ever hired… just not at @cuts 

Back at San Diego State, I had just started my role as marketing manager of the gym. I’d known Brennan for years, but mostly as a rival in intramural sports.

Honestly, I didn’t think fondly of him at first, but I knew he was a competitor. When I interviewed him, I was curious to see that tenacity in a work setting.

We ended up becoming great friends.

Years later, when I started CUTS, Brennan was one of the first people I called to help figure out how to market and scale the brand. He was there for the Kickstarter and all the early years when we were just trying to make it work.

Fast forward eight years, Brennan is still a soldier for this business and a big reason for much of the success you’ve seen.

During our recent car giveaway, we took some photos that got me excited for the next eight years.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned: you can’t teach grit, commitment, and genuine love for the brand. Those traits outweigh everything else in a great partner or employee.

I’m glad I hired my “arch enemy” eight years ago, because today he shares the same vision that we’re just getting started and the best growth is ahead.

An incredible evening aboard the USS Midway with @moms4liberty 

One of the themes of the night was that gratitude requires remembrance.

It’s easy to complain about the state of the world. It’s harder to pause and remember that the freedoms we enjoy today were bought at a tremendous cost.

Thousands of young men and women left their families, stepped into uncertainty, and gave everything so that future generations could live free. Free to worship. Free to build businesses. Free to raise families. Free to pursue the American dream.

Standing on the deck of a ship that carried so many Americans into service was a powerful reminder that freedom isn’t guaranteed. It was earned through courage, sacrifice, and an unwavering belief that the next generation deserved something worth preserving.

As we celebrate America’s 250th year, may we never lose our sense of gratitude for those who came before us.

The United States of America is still the greatest place in the world to build, create, and pursue opportunity. We are incredibly blessed to live in a country where ordinary people can build extraordinary lives through faith, hard work, and perseverance.
