gear matters but it shouldn’t stop you from starting content

you need to ask your self what type of personal brand do I want

what experience do I want to give my audience?

Is it cheap silly TikTok style random content

or you genuinely want to build a world where you spend, curate content that is higher quality?

don’t be superficial, share your stories, experiences and talk about what you love.

once you start you’ll find out what content you want to make then invest in content hear accordingly.

to build a authentic personal brand you need to keep it personal

otherwise it’s just a brand and nothing personal about you

story is the most important thing that is the reason why people are captivated towards it

and stop relying on AI to make content ideas for you and script because that’s absolutely wrong.

personal authentic storytelling comes from real stories

real emotions, thoughts, struggles, wins and your journey

not regurgitated information from the internet

so for once sit down and write down what you are feeling, doing, learning, struggles, lessons, what you plan to do

and you’ll have infinite amount of stories to share

and don’t keep content and your story separate it should be integrated into the content.

If you want to grow a personal brand and skip years of posting content no one watches, here’s the strategy:

There are 4 ingredients most people miss (especially the first one):

1. Define your actual goal
Why are you building this brand?
To become an influencer?
To build something you can monetize?

Pick one. The content you make for each is completely different.

2. Find your dream avatar
Who are you talking to?
For me, it was my previous self learning content creation from scratch.
For you, it might be a student making their first video or a freelancer trying to stand out.

Pick ONE person.

3. Choose 3-5 content topics
Pick topics around your dream avatar’s world and stick to them.
If you’re in film: cinematography, storytelling, movies.

Switch between these so your content stays focused but not repetitive.

4. Lock in your formats
Sit-down talking head?
Fast-paced creative shots?
Low quality selfie yaps?

Choose 1-3 formats and stick to them.

This is how people recognize your content before they even see your face.

With these 4 ingredients, you’re not just posting random stuff.

You’re building a personal brand that’s actually personal to you.

something to take away from my experience is you have to be obsessed with just making content

lot of people come to me and say they will start building their personal brands out but they stop after a week

If no one is watching your content, it’s not because of your message

it’s because of a weak visual hook.

Here are 3 visual hooks I use to get results like these:

Place objects in front of your camera to create depth. This film technique guides viewers’ eyes to the main subject and instantly adds visual interest.

Add movement in your opening.

Instead of talking directly to the camera in the first 2 seconds, try spinning on your chair, sitting down as you deliver your hook, or moving the camera.

There are endless possibilities.

Use slow zooms at the start and end of your videos.

This is done in editing, and when you combine all 3 techniques, your videos will stop the scroll every time.

If this was helpful, I’ll see you on the next one.

your first 100 videos will be terrible

not because you’re not capable but it’s a skill that takes time and passion

those who succeed with content they love it

if you want to build a magnetic personal brand

don’t look at how bad your first 100 videos are

Instead know that overtime you’ll get better at it

It all started with that first step

The first online business

The first book

The first post

The first payment

The first failure

The first win

You’ll not achieve any of this if you don’t take that first step

So don’t look 100 steps ahead instead focus on the first.

Documenting my business journey everyday

I’m open to dms if you need help as a founder to create a polish creator founder brand.

most founders treat their personal brands as another marketing channel

where they use it only when they need customers

but the top personal brands treat it as documentation of who you are and becoming

so it’s about reflecting your reality In the form of content

I would not be where I am today if I all I cared about

was the views, likes and followers

pretty early on I learnt to detach myself from these metrics

and I guess it’s paying off

of course it’s not always easy but it’s possible

this has allowed me to make whatever I want and have no limit

so if you’re early in your personal brand and content journey

stop refreshing your profile and learn how to make good content people want to tune in

I used to compare myself a lot to other people my age

being highly successful and me not being there yet

but that wasn’t the right approach to comparing myself

instead I now use it as to what’s possible like if they can do it so can I

I only compare myself to people doing better what’s the point of comparing yourself to the average person

you’re not going to improve through that

also use it as motivation factor to aim higher

everyone is dealt with different cards so you just need to focus on your timeline

put in the work, constantly improve and put yourself & work out there on social media

and eventually you will see the light

the true of being a creator

when you truly love what you create and are pleased with the final edit

someone like me I would constantly watch my own videos just because I’m proud of my work

well there has been times where I’ve watched the same reel after posting for 30 minutes straight

Ik it sounds crazy but you have to be obsessed with your content in order to have an unique personal brand

so is it just me who does this?

Content creation might be the most valuable skill you can learn right now.

The creator economy is projected to hit $500 billion by 2027, and if you’re sitting in your room wondering how to actually start a personal brand, this is for you.

This is episode 7 of Personal Branding School. Here’s what actually matters:

1. Find your mission first
Are you documenting a journey (building a business, learning a skill) or creating to earn through brand deals? This clarity keeps you consistent when everyone else is trend-hopping.

2. Weave your story into everything
Share a pivotal moment that connects to your mission. People follow stories, not information dumps. Example: “I was a nepo baby until my European parents lost everything. Now I’m documenting the rebuild.”

3. Curate your aesthetic
Save visuals, music, fonts, and colors that make you think “wow, I love that.” Combine them into something that feels uniquely yours.

4. Post daily for 30 days
Try different formats. Learn to speak to camera, script naturally, and edit efficiently. This builds discipline and shows you what actually resonates with your style.

Do this and you’ll skip years of posting random content that isn’t you. You’ll grow 100x faster.

unorganized folders = sloppy and long editing time

it’s the boring task but once you start grouping your editing assets

In clean folders, subgroups your video editing process becomes so much smoother and faster

you won’t have to sit through looking for clips everywhere instead you know exactly where it is

If you can’t commit to posting once a day

don’t start a personal brand

but why?

If you truly want to get good at content, storytelling and branding

you need to show up and put the reps

and I know it can take long to film and edit

that is the reason why I limit myself when filming

to only 3 takes so I’m done fast without going for “perfectionism”

remove friction it be your environment or workflow or equipment use things that you find easy

and stick to it

so many people say that editing is a low leverage task only if you don’t care about having an actual “personal brand” not just followers

So I noticed something with the top personas like Emma Chamberlain and Daniel Dalen.

Emma could afford any editor but refuses because “the edit is her voice.”

Daniel runs multiple businesses and travels constantly but still edits his own vlogs.

Here’s what I learned:

The best personal brands aren’t built on efficiency.

They’re built on taste.

When you edit your own content, you’re making micro-decisions that shape your voice.
What’s funny. What’s real. What matters.

Those choices become your signature.

Yes, outsourcing means more content.

But more content doesn’t equal better branding.

The real question: Are you documenting your life or just chasing metrics?

If you’re playing the long game and building something that actually lasts, the parts that make your content uniquely yours can’t be outsourced.

That’s the difference between a personal brand and inflated followers

So the question becomes do you want to have a page with followers or a Personal Brand?

I stopped running out of content ideas the day I stopped looking for them online.

Most creators scroll through other accounts, ask ChatGPT, copy what’s trending.

Then wonder why their brand feels generic.

Here’s what I do instead: when I’m stuck, I don’t open Instagram.

I open my camera roll.

Because when you scroll through your photos, you’re seeing moments that actually happened to you.

That visual trigger unlocks content ideas that mean something.

Stories only you can tell.

Your camera roll is a goldmine of authenticity.

The life you’ve lived.

The lessons you’ve learned.

The random weird moments that shaped you.

That’s the content people connect with.

So next time you’re stuck, don’t doomscroll.

Don’t ask AI to write your story.

Open your camera roll.

Let your own life remind you what’s worth sharing.
