On October 18, 2024, outside Timberline High School in Lacey, Washington, 17-year-old Israa Ali was allegedly attacked by her own parents in an attempted “honor killing." She'd refused to travel to Iraq for an arranged marriage with an older man.

Prosecutors say her father, Ihsan Ali, choked her until she lost consciousness, while her mother, Zahraa Ali, may have also physically assaulted her during the incident.

Newly revealed bodycam footage shows Zahraa fixated on her husband’s arrest, screaming “This is my husband” and repeatedly trying to reach him, rather than checking on their daughter’s condition. Officers testified that she showed little concern for the victim and instead blamed the girl’s boyfriend for changing her behavior.

Jurors have already heard testimony from students, the victim, her boyfriend, medical professionals, and police. School officials who witnessed the aftermath are expected to testify later this week.

During a hearing on March 11 for two Lake Brantley High School students accused of plotting to kill a classmate, prosecutors played new footage that showed the girls in the back seat of a patrol car after their arrest in January.

The video showed the pair laughing after being placed in the patrol car while discussing what led to their arrest.
Police say that Lake Brantley High School received an anonymous tip on January 22 via the FortifyFL website.

A judge ruled there was too much of a danger to the community for Isabelle Valdez, 15, and Lois Lippert, 14, to be released on bond.

Valdez and Lippert each face charges of attempted first-degree murder and possession of a weapon on school property.

Both Valdez and Lippert have entered not guilty pleas. Both will remain in custody until their hearings next month.

A 22-year-old disabled woman was found locked inside a dog kennel, screaming for help, in a backyard in Anson, Texas, on November 22, 2025. Justin Anderson, a neighbor, heard the woman's screams and came to see what was happening. He recorded the horrific discovery on his phone. The woman's foster mom, 60-year-old Kandice “Kandy” Thompson was arrested and charged with multiple felonies, including kidnapping and injury to a disabled person. She was released on bond, and then re-arrested on additional aggravated kidnapping charges on November 25. Police in Fresno, California are investigating an incident involving a U.S. Postal Service letter carrier and an elderly man captured on a Nest doorbell camera.

The carrier had just delivered packages when a man walked by with two dogs, the larger of which was not on a leash.

After warning that the dog was loose and saying he was protecting himself, the carrier pulled out pepper spray. That's when the dog owner ran toward the carrier, who then pepper-sprayed him instead.

Officers arrived within minutes, and the man, who believed the carrier had sprayed his dog first, was cited for misdemeanor fighting in public and declined medical attention.

“You tried to kill me with your own hands”: 17-year-old Fatima Ali confronted her parents at sentencing for what was initially believed to be an attempted honor killing. The teen was choked by her father to the point she passed out and seizured.

On August 18, Ihsan and Zahraa Ali were sentenced for assaulting their daughter near Timberline High School in Lacey, Washington, in an attack witnessed by students and bystanders. The teen, now 17, described a life of abuse and expressed deep emotional pain, condemning both parents — calling her father a "monster" and criticizing her mother for failing to intervene.

Although both were acquitted of attempted murder, Mr. Ali was convicted of assault and unlawful imprisonment and sentenced to approximately 20 months in jail. A 10-year no-contact order was issued to him. Mrs. Ali was convicted of violating a court order and received a 364-day sentence, with part of it suspended.

Because Mrs. Ali does not speak English, the victim’s statement was translated for her after it was delivered in court.

Initial reports suggested the violence may have been related to the teen’s refusal to travel to Iraq for an arranged marriage, but prosecutors later found no definitive evidence of that motive. #truecrime #honorkilling

A West Palm Beach, Florida mother says a therapy center she trusted with her autistic, non-verbal son betrayed that trust. Diana Hernandez alleges a now-former therapist at Maximum Achievers school physically abused her young son — and saw the incident captured on surveillance video.

The footage shows the therapist striking the child with a sneaker and appearing to throw objects at him. Hernandez says she noticed her son shaking after a session and later found what appeared to be bruises and a bite mark on his back. She took him to the emergency room and requested surveillance video from the center.

Maximum Achievers says the employee has been fired and that they are cooperating with law enforcement. Police say the investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been announced. Hernandez is now calling for accountability. “I need this man in jail,” she said. #truecrime #caughtoncamera

On April 1, 2026, the Commerce City Police Department in Colorado arrested a man who initially reached out applying for a job.

While looking into his application, six pages worth of criminal history popped up, plus active warrants. So, they called him in to “chat about his application." The man showed up hoping to go on a ride-along with an officer. Instead, he wound up in custody.

Officers say when they were walking the man to booking, he asked if his arrest would negatively impact the hiring chances ... 🤦‍♂️

School district faces third employee drug possession arrest in 2025-2026 school year. An elementary school custodian is in hot water after police allegedly found fentanyl and cocaine in his pockets while he was on school grounds, marking the third time a Cranston elementary school employee has been arrested for drug possession on campus during the current school year.

Cranston, Rhode Island officers were called to Garden City Elementary School after a co-worker found 38-year-old Shane Gavin unconscious. After waking Gavin up, police say he "showed signs of narcotic intoxication," like slurred speech and enlarged pupils.

When officers searched his pockets, it’s reported they found two baggies filled with a "white powdery substance," as well as a credit card, two straws, and money with a "white powdery substance on them."

Officers say tests later confirmed that the substance was cocaine and fentanyl. This is the second time this school year a janitor from Garden City Elementary was charged with having drugs on school grounds, and the third employee drug possession arrest at a Cranston elementary school. A teaching assistant at a different Cranston elementary school, Chester W. Barrows Elementary school, was arrested in March after drugs were found in the nurse's bathroom. #bodycam #caughtoncamera #crimenews

$100k IN DAMAGES!? Copper prices must be pretty good, but this alleged thief's stunt is costing Seattle taxpayers way more than he would've made scrapping the wires.

Newly released body camera video from the night of June 27 shows officers confronting Gregory Wayne Galitzeck on the West Seattle Bridge, where prosecutors say he was cutting and rolling up copper wire from bridge lighting.

Galitzeck claimed to work for Seattle City Light, but couldn't provide any identification to prove that. The utility later confirmed he was lying, and noted he caused about $100,000 in damages.

Police say they searched him and found burglary tools, suspected methamphetamine and an illegal fixed-blade knife during the arrest.

Galitzeck is now facing multiple charges, including theft, criminal impersonation and malicious mischief. Prosecutors say he later failed to appear for arraignment, leading to a warrant for his arrest.

Just 11 days after she was sentenced to jail, a woman squatting in a multimillion-dollar home has found her way back to this Bethesda neighborhood.

Neighbors say Tamieka Goode has been squatting in a $2.3 million home for nearly a year, and parading the home on her social media as if it’s her own. Goode was eventually arrested on December 8 and charged with burglary and trespassing. She was found guilty and sentenced to 90 days in jail. However, after posting a $5,000 appeal bond, Goode was allowed to leave jail after serving just 11 days behind bars.

Now neighbors say she’s back in the home, where she’s reportedly staying with another squatter: Corey Pollard. Montgomery County Police say that because the squatters have been in the house for more than 30 days, they’ve gained residency status for the house. Goode is scheduled to appear for a pre-trial conference hearing in Montgomery County Circuit Court on March 6, with her partner, Pollard, still facing an active bench warrant for his missed hearing in late January. #truecrime

Latasha Brown, a public school teacher, has filed a lawsuit against Tru by Hilton and several management companies, alleging that hotel staff negligently gave her estranged husband a key to her room, allowing him to kidnap and assault her. The suit, filed in Orangeburg County, South Carolina, claims that her husband—who was not a registered guest—entered her room early on September 20, 2024, and held her captive for several hours before she escaped. Neighbors reportedly heard her screams and alerted the front desk, but hotel staff allegedly failed to investigate or call the police. At a news conference with her attorney, State Rep. Justin Bamberg, Brown said she hopes her case raises awareness about domestic violence and prompts hotels to strengthen guest safety measures. “SHE DIDN’T FEEL GUILTY THEN. I DON’T BELIEVE SHE FEELS GUILTY NOW.”

The suspected “ringleader” of a group accused of the torture and murder of a transgender man has pled guilty to all of her charges.

In February 2024, police found the body of Sam Nordquist in a Canandaigua, New York field. Police say Sam was physically and sexually assaulted, and forced to do degrading acts like drink and eat urine and feces.

Seven suspects were arrested and charged in connection to the crime: 38-year-old Precious Arzuaga, 33-year-old Kyle Sage, 30-year-old Patrick Goodwin, 30-year-old Jennifer Quijano, 29-year-old Kimberly Sochia, 21-year-old Thomas Eaves, and 19-year-old Emily Motyka. At this moment, Motyka and Arzuaga are the only two to plead guilty.

On June 2, Motyka pled guilty to second-degree murder and second-degree kidnapping. She faces a minimum of 15 years to life in prison and a maximum of 50 years to life in prison. On June 26, Arzuaga pled guilty to first-degree murder, kidnapping, aggravated sexual abuse, concealment of a human corpse, conspiracy, coercion and endangering the welfare of a child. On September 4, she’s expected to be sentenced to life without the possibility of parole.

The remaining five suspects are awaiting their separate trials.

A reminder that social media isn't real life: A Maryland woman flaunting her wealthy lifestyle online was actually just a squatter who illegally moved into a multimillion-dollar house she didn't own, according to police.

The situation began around July 4, 2025. The $2.3 million home had recently gone on the market as part of a foreclosure, but appeared to be moving toward a new buyer. But neighbors were confused when new residents moved in before the sale was finalized.

The alleged squatters were identified as Tamieka Goode and Corey Pollard. Goode is a self-described “pro-se litigation coach” who frequently documents her life on social media. She featureed the multimillion-dollar home frequently in her videos, as well as luxury cars that police say she allegedly stole from a dealership in Lancaster, PA.

Goode was eventually arrested on December 8 and charged with burglary and trespassing. She was found guilty and sentenced to 90 days in jail. According to court records, Pollard was recently arrested on an outstanding, unrelated warrant. #truecrime #influencer
