We put off so many things in life because we’re scared. I put off having kids for years because I was terrified of it. I avoided public speaking because I thought I’d embarrass myself. And for the longest time, I held back from posting on social media because I was afraid of being judged. Fear is sneaky like that. It convinces you to wait… until you’re “ready.” But the truth is, most of us never feel fully ready. Sometimes I wish I could go back and do things differently. But I also believe life unfolds the way it’s meant to even when we don’t understand it yet. All we can really control is the story we choose going forward. So I’m choosing to be braver. To try things before I feel ready. To appreciate the journey as it unfolds. To every woman who is still becoming who she’s meant to be, I see you and you are doing better than you think. Only took me almost 50 years to learn that my personal time is just as important. I always say that it is US that trains the clients. When we respond late at night and when we give up our weekends then we are the ones that are saying it’s ok….my time is not a priority. Especially because you can just walk into your own private room at Selfie Lab and take photos at your own pace. No people watching No pressure Just us being chaotic in really good lighting And the one hour slot? We got so many photos and still had time to spare! Day 2 of asking my kids about 2026 Interior Design Trends! So according to my kids Glass Doors as a trend should be canceled for 2026. Not because of their look or functionality but because they are dangerous 😅 A reminder that sometimes what is most aesthetic maybe doesn’t suit life with kids. I actually haven’t heard this from a client in a long time but this trend was way too fun not to try it. Building a career from nothing takes time…years of learning, experimenting, trusting your gut, and hoping the right clients trust in you and the process too. I’m so grateful for every client who took a chance, believed in the vision, and let me do what I do best. Experience doesn’t always look the same on paper… sometimes it’s built through real projects, real people, and a lot of behind the scenes work.
