Several of Perna’s relatives and associates were also charged. State Police launched the investigation in January 2024 and found the enterprise was based in Essex and Bergen counties. Authorities say the ring moved roughly $2 million in gambling proceeds between 2022 and 2024. Raimo is accused of acting as a high-level agent who managed his own sportsbooks within the operation. He faces charges including racketeering, conspiracy, promoting gambling, possession of gambling records, and money laundering.
