Last but not least Sunday recovery AKA attending our first Rallo backyard party as husband and wife. Even if we didn’t plan a backyard pool party for the day after our wedding, I know we would’ve ended up with the front door open, welcoming everyone in, nonetheless.

We at chicken and waffles and breakfast sandwiches, drank Bloody Marys and Aperol spritzes, and did our best to sing seasons of love with nearly lost voices.

Everyone got in the pool and then my in laws stayed for an impromptu @bahrslandingrestaurant trip and one last toast.

Designed and planned by my parents!

On Friday evening we welcomed 200 guests to my family’s second home, our restaurant Birravino, which my grandfather opened nearly 40 years ago. I remember being 5 years old, running into the kitchen, where he stood daily, mixing a huge pot of our Sunday Sauce. In those 40 years, the restaurant has NEVER been closed to the public for a private event… until now. July 22nd, 1998, the day I was born, there was a sign tacked out front that read “it’s a girl!” and today, the restaurant is still family run with the heart and dedication my grandfather poured into it when he first opened the doors.

Beyond the importance of 183 Riverside Ave for my family—it was also the place Avery and I became boyfriend and girlfriend. So when we started planning a Monmouth County wedding, we knew Birravino had to be the location of our welcome party, and we knew my grandfather was giving us his stamp of approval from above.

The Aperol spritzes were flowing like water, Big Vic’s meatballs were beyond a crowd pleaser, and the entire evening was underscored by both classic Italian American bangers and a pending Knicks win. We heard beautiful words from our maids of honor Allie and Veronica, our best men Ryan and Joey, and Avery’s parents. Avery led our guests in Shabbat prayers, and I welcomed everyone with a toast which honored each of our family members individually. It truly felt like the start of our marriage—his traditions, my traditions, all of our people clinking glasses of Chianti, sharing moments, lighters, and laughs.

Our out of town guests raved about New Jersey. Everyone smoked 200 skinny cigarettes, drank all of our wine, kissed on both cheeks, and ended the evening barefoot dancing in the parking lot. This is a parking lot I’ve pulled into thousands of times throughout my life, being that Birravino was like my dining room growing up—but one that now looks so different with such a core memory made. Cent’anni. Let’s get hitched!

Forever my Scorpio boy.

I was so nervous before walking down the aisle, but the minute I got up to the top of the staircase, as my favorite song (Landslide) started to play, and I saw either side lined with our loved ones as I walked toward our life as husband and wife, I felt both calm and entirely overwhelmed all at once.

I’m so glad we ran a strict program about phone usage during the ceremony, because as I walked down the aisle I got to make eye contact with everyone I love so dearly and not their phone cameras. It reminded me of what the moment was truly about, and was so striking, all of these wonderfully familiar faces, all in one place. I stole glances at the ocean, cried my way through Avery’s beautiful vows, and thanked god @haleyjakobsen was there to fix my veil when the absolutely ethereal wind took on a mind of its own.

After we were officially married we recessed down the aisle to ‘I Do, I Do, I Do’ (original Broadway cast recording) while our guests sang along with us. It was perfectly intimate, spiritual, festive, and so very us.

My second look, a dream come true, made in Milan by @peterlangner !!!!!

I felt like a princess but also just like me. I cherish this dress!!!!!! When @nataliastylist came to do a second hair look I had all sorts of plans but when it came to it, we spent 4 minutes total together, and I said “just get it off my neck”. The party pony ended up the perfect addition to the flirtiest dress on the planet.

Getting changed in a beach cabana turned bridal suite (by my mom) was the perfect solution to a lack of traditional bridal suite.

And I danced so hard in these 4 inch @jimmychoo platforms my feet were swollen for a full 48 hours.

One week ago today, we kicked off our wedding festivities with an intimate family dinner on Thursday night at my parent’s restaurant Undici, in the town where I grew up. My absolutely brilliant mom, with the consultation of my dad, @johngorga and my brother planned and designed such an intimate, breathtaking dinner, at a place I’ve been one million times, that when we arrived I couldn’t stop crying.

It was important to Avery and I to share as many special moments as possible with our (at that point) soon to be blended family (5 brothers!! Hello!) before the chaos, and we couldn’t have dreamed up a more magical way to begin the weekend. We got ready at home, and drank white wine from Ischia while blasting ABBA, and then conducted a sing a long to Marry You by Bruno Mars on the short drive over, feeling like something magical was just beginning for both of us and for our beautiful families.

Undici has been in my family for nearly two decades. Our restaurants are truly sacred to us, and welcoming my in laws to a place I grew up (visiting my dad at work, running around during construction), watching them arrive teeming with excitement for all that was still ahead, was simply put: unforgettable. We opened Oddero Barolo from 2004 and all of us signed the bottle with paint markers, almost everyone got up (some impromptu, some planned) to speak (and the tears were flowing in tandem with the wine), and we stole so many “is this even real?” glances as we watched our families truly fall in lockstep as one.

We ate pasta pomodoro and cannolis, got late night spray tans a little drunk, and woke up the next morning so unbelievably grateful and satisfied with and for the evening that we couldn’t even believe there was more to come.

The final look of June 6th, 2026… a custom @kricketmarieatelier set featuring a handmade corset. I found Kricket on Pinterest and was so thrilled when I found out they were based in Texas and required in person fittings.

I had a vision of the last outfit being a custom corset, and when I was fitted for it in in Austin in February, I highly doubted the designer when she told me it was going to take 30 minutes minimum to get it on.

She was right. It literally took 30 minutes. Most worth it half an hour of my life. We took a solo trolley ride to the @sltaphouse where the weather had cleared up and cooled down for our indoor/ outdoor after party. Someone found a rogue cigarette from Friday night. I stole a glass of wine from the venue and then danced on the bar with my HUSBAND and my grandma. Goals.

Waking up in my childhood bedroom on my wedding day was one of many details that made the day so special, intentional, and surreal. My maids of honor burst into my room at 5:30 am from down the hall, and the picture of them standing in my bedroom giggling is something I’ll never forget.

We piled in my mom’s car and drove to the beach I used to watch the sunrise at in high school, to jump in the ocean. I felt like the little girl I once was and the most grown up version of myself all at once. Many blips flashed before me throughout the day—because we were just at home—but it looked and felt different on June 6th. Our ocean swim was the perfect way to start the morning, and 15 miles down the shore, my now husband and his brothers were doing the same thing.

The wedding day, I felt, didn’t need to be Pinterest perfect, it just needed to reflect the two of us, and it just needed to feel like home.

We got ready at the salon where I got my hair done for 8th grade graduation and prom, @jonlori, we ate bagels and had @rookcoffee and listened to show tunes. I wore a @natori slip gifted from my mother in law, and a linen robe by @loropiana gifted by family friends. I wanted the girls to feel comfortable, so I got them @lakepajamas button down nightgowns and flip flops. I felt calm, not at all rushed, and tried not to cry as I read through a scrapbook put together by my sister in law Jess of handwritten notes from all of my loved ones. At home, we had some time to lounge, eat Brennan’s #26s and hear an impromptu toast from my mother, who I got to watch experience the day with her best friend Danielle by her side, as I experienced it with all of mine.

We had a dance party in the grass, drank Taittinger champagne, and took our time getting dressed. My mom and best friends Veronica and Allie helped me into my wedding gown in the bedroom where I lamented over first kisses and heartbreaks, rested my head when I visited home from college, and started to dream the dreams I now live out. One mile down the road, my groom and his favorite people were getting ready at my parent’s best friend’s house—drinking beers and taking naps.
