Reports from The New York Times indicate the ouster stemmed from George and Army Secretary Dan Driscoll refusing to remove two Black and two female officers from a list of 29 personnel up for promotion to one star general, after Hegseth had ordered them struck from the list.

NBC News separately reported that Hegseth had blocked or delayed promotions for more than a dozen Black and female senior officers across all four military branches. Gen. Christopher LaNeve, a former aide to Hegseth, has been installed as acting Army chief of staff. Since taking office, Hegseth has fired or sidelined more than a dozen generals and admirals, including former Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. CQ Brown Jr. and Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Lisa Franchetti, making this one of the most sweeping military leadership purges in modern American history.

The Tiger Woods situation is a disaster. From his apparent lack of care for the safety and lives of his fellow citizens, to the blatant corruption of him attempting to get off the hook by calling President Trump. 😬

All that said, however, there’s no denying that the memes spawned from the incident are simply solid gold. 😂

Tiger Woods was arrested last week for DUI after he flipped his vehicle and has subsequently got a judge’s approval to attend rehab overseas.

The fallout has been widespread and multifaceted, with sports fans seemingly believing this is the final straw for the clearly troubled golf legend. ⛳️

Earlier this week, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office released the footage from Woods’ arrest that showed the extent of just how messed up on prescription medicines he was at the time of his arrest.

And while the situation in an undeniably serious one, there’s also no getting away from the fact that the memes being produced from the video are A+, top-tier internet gold. 🤷‍♂️

While Woods’ was reportedly planning on trying to play at the Masters next weekend, that obviously is not happening now.

In fact, many golf fans think that Woods’ should hang up his cleats entirely and simply focus on his own well-being before he kills himself or someone else.

The proposal was presented by War Secretary Pete Hegseth from the Southern Command in Florida. The plan redefines the region’s strategic map, including all sovereign nations and territories north of the equator, from Greenland to Ecuador and from Alaska to Guyana, within what they call an “immediate security perimeter.”

This effectively incorporates Central American countries such as Costa Rica into this new geopolitical vision. The strategy also calls on countries south of the equator to take on greater burden-sharing responsibilities in defending the South Atlantic, South Pacific, and critical regional infrastructure.

Futures for West Texas Intermediate crude, the US benchmark, surged 11.2% to close over $110 per barrel, while the international benchmark, Brent crude, climbed 8% to settle at $109 per barrel. It was the first time in almost four years that US crude closed above Brent.

Investors had been looking for a sign that the Strait of Hormuz, a key shipping lane for oil, may reopen. Before the war, about one-fifth of the world’s oil went through the strait.

During his address, Trump maintained that the war was “nearing completion.”
