You do not need a 12-step skincare routine.

World-renowned dermatologist, Dr. Shereene Idriss, says there are just 3 categories of skincare that every routine needs.

Comment ‘SKIN’ and I’ll DM you a link to the full episode!

A gentle cleanser.
A simple moisturizer.
And a daily sunscreen.

That’s it.

So I asked her to share affordable options you can find at any drugstore. This is not sponsored - these are accessibly priced options that are widely available.

But Dr. Idriss says you can choose a cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen of your choice - and focus on these categories first, before adding in other products like actives.

She says, when you focus on these three things, you protect your skin, support your barrier, and create long-term change - without overwhelming your bathroom counter or your budget.

To hear her other recommendations, and what to add after you master the basics, you need today’s episode of @themelrobbinspodcast in which Dr. @shereeneidriss cuts through the noise and gives you the science-backed, no-BS truth about what actually works - and what’s a waste of money.

If you follow what she teaches, you’ll stop guessing, stop overspending, and start feeling confident in your skin again.

If you look in the mirror and don’t recognize yourself, you’re not crazy - something has changed.

Aging is a beautiful, natural part of life. And as I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to embrace the changes.

But when your face starts to shift, it can still feel scary. And it’s normal to go down the rabbit hole and blame yourself:

I should’ve worn SPF sooner…
I did something wrong…
I could’ve prevented this…

So I want to equip you with the science - because your face changing isn’t failure. It’s normal. It’s natural. It’s biology.

According to one of the most trusted board-certified dermatologists, Dr. Shereene Idriss (@shereeneidriss), there are two scientifically proven ages when cellular aging accelerates. And knowing them helps you understand what you’re seeing in the mirror - and stop blaming yourself for it.

Comment 'SKIN' and I’ll DM you a link to the full episode.

And in Dr. Idriss’s 17+ years of clinical practice, she’s also seen four major “peaks” where people notice big shifts.
One of the biggest? Your mid-40s. Your physiology changes. Hormones fluctuate. Collagen declines more aggressively. Cellular repair slows. And the pace of visible aging can change fast.

When you understand what’s happening, you stop panicking - and you start being proactive… and a whole lot kinder to yourself.

In this episode, Dr. Idriss breaks down the science, answers your biggest questions, and shares three specific steps that make skincare simple and doable.

Most people have no idea they’re missing these 2 critical things when they put on sunscreen, according to world-renowned dermatologist Dr. Shereene Idriss.

Comment ‘Skin’ and I’ll DM you a link to the full episode!

According to world-renowned dermatologist Dr. Shereene Idriss, here’s what you need to know:

1️⃣ If your sunscreen doesn’t say “broad spectrum,” you are NOT fully protected.

UVB rays burn you. UVA rays break down collagen and accelerate aging. Both contribute to skin cancer.

Broad spectrum isn’t optional. It’s essential.

2️⃣ SPF is not just a random number.

It roughly means how much longer you can stay in the sun without burning compared to wearing no sunscreen.

If you burn in 10 minutes, SPF 30 means it would take about 300 minutes to burn.

I had no idea that’s what it actually meant 🤯

In today’s episode, Dr. @shereeneidriss is covering everything from collagen and sagging jowls to actives, acne, injectables, and how much money you should really be spending on skincare.

If you follow what she teaches, you’ll stop guessing, stop overspending, and start feeling confident in your skin again.

You do NOT need to dunk your face in a bowl of ice water first thing in the morning…

Yes, I tried it…
Yes, it was freezing…

And yes… world-renowned dermatologist Dr. Shereene Idriss called me out 🤣

Comment ‘Skin’ and I’ll DM you a link to the full episode!

While there are other benefits to dunking your face in ice water (related to your nervous system, mood, and physical alertness), it’s not the only option for helping reduce redness or puffiness - despite what the viral social media trends might say…

This is exactly why I invited Dr. @shereeneidriss on the podcast.

There is SO much noise when it comes to skincare, trends, gadgets, “miracle” routines.

And in this one episode, Dr. Idriss, one of the most trusted dermatologists in the world, breaks down what actually works, what’s a waste of time (and money), and the simple steps that will make the biggest difference.
