Centrally located between our four cities, Robin Roberts stadium in Springfield, Illinois, will host the first season of the Women’s Pro Baseball League. Following a series of barnstorming games, the season will begin in August of 2026, with the league having exclusive use of the stadium for the duration of the season. Springfield is the birthplace of women’s pro baseball, with the first-ever pro women’s teams being formed there in 1875: the Blondes and the Brunettes. By selecting Springfield to host our first season, we’ll be taking women’s pro baseball back to where it began, giving Midwesterners and fans from across the country the opportunity to witness the best women in baseball going head-to-head for the first time since the Midwest-based All American Girls Baseball League played its final game.

Jaida Lee heads to NYC! 👏 Jaida started playing baseball when she was just six years old. She hasn’t stopped since. She made history in 2022, becoming the first women to play men’s baseball at the Canada Games. Her first pitch was a strike, and the ball is now on display at the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame. Jaida went on to join the Canadian Women’s National Team, and helped the team capture bronze at the 2024 Women’s Baseball World Cup. Known for her velocity, power, and poise under pressure, we’re excited to have her on the mound for New York.🗽

She’s known for her strong instincts behind the plate, learned from years playing against the boys growing up and now against top international women’s talent.
