Made the CPU time graph include the graphics engine CPU time - still consistently under 2 ms total.  That means if the GPU could keep up it would be doing 500 fps rendering the whole world!

@rfleury I think you may be thinking of shared_ptr, which does reference counting. unique_ptr doesn't need to.

Substrata now has state-of-the-art SSAO, SSGI etc.  Probably better than in your favourite computer game!
It is, of course, open source.  Might write up a blog post about it.

@vkrajacic not every respect. Parsing is slightly faster with null terminated strings.

Reworked animated GIF support.  Texture frames are uploaded to the GPU off the main thread.  
This is super smooth at 144 fps with no dropped frames and consistent < 2ms CPU time (see the green bar graph on the upper left).
Build is a secret showroom by @0xDeadstock

Messing around with shaders for the new Portal object.  The nice colouring technique is from @XorDev.  Not sure whether to keep the effect planar or do some raymarching.

AI chatbots are live in Substrata! Anyone can create one for their land parcels or their personal worlds. You can customise their personality and set a custom avatar. We are still improving them and writing docs but you can try them out now.
