A purest form of a love/hate relationship. Here’s why ⬇️ I’m obsessed with how they look— seriously what my dream kitchen is made of. BUT. They’re not exactly easy to clean (lots of grooves and uneven spots), and the salvaged bricks I used are suuuper irregular. So if you’re into crisp, uniform floors… maybe not. That said—they hide messes like a champ. Which, if you’ve met my kids, is a feature not a bug. Would I do it again? Honestly… probably. But maybe with a more consistent brick next time. Would love to hear from anyone else who has brick floors—do you love them or regret everything?

It has been 2 YEARS since I started this project. My, has time flown. And over the next weeks, we are going to rewind, and start from the beginning. Do you remember approximately how many “work day” this entire renovation took me? I think I could have the Guinness world record for longest series lol

For this project, I used KILZ® Premium 3 to make sure those stains were blocked and it was has a super strong base. The water based primer is perfect for using inside, especially with little kids around. Those super strong tannins, I hit again with KILZ® Original, cause nothings getting through that! WAIT TILL THE END! We never intended this to be a “flip house.” But life had other plans. And I think flip houses, you usually make money. lol which we did not. But hey, it was a great learning experience and we didn’t lose any money, so that’s always a win. Life and learn yall lol.

Day 3! Staples will be the death of me. Next up: removing nearly the entire wall across from the laundry. We will rebuild it 2 feet back into the pantry. This gives us way more space in a dual function space and takes just a little bit of square footage from our future pantry that’s plenty big!

Day 4! We love a weekend when max can help. We haven’t worked together since before Judd so we bickered a little at the beginning 😂 but we got the hang of it and got this wall out! Next up: rebuild the wall
