We should have quit after this… On our very first Airbnb that we owned… Our first guest stole over $15,000 in furnishings. TVs. Decor. Furniture. Gone. We were brand new. No experience. No playbook. And suddenly we were staring at an empty house wondering what we had just gotten ourselves into. When this happened to us, it literally felt like the end of the world. I was so embarrassed. So frustrated. So ashamed that we had messed up that badly. We could have cried about it. We could have said, “This was a mistake.” We could have walked away before it got worse. Instead… we chose to keep going. It was a hard lesson learned. School of hard knocks? Absolutely. But here’s what happened next: We got every dollar back. Replaced everything in 3 days. And had new guests checking in 3 days later. Back up and running. Seven years later… We’re multi–7 figure hosts. And boy have we learned a lot. That disaster didn’t destroy us. It forced us to build better systems, better screening, better protection. Most people don’t fail because the business doesn’t work. They fail because they quit after the first punch. If you want to learn the lessons we learned the hard way — so you don’t have to — Comment LEARN and we’ll show you how to build your Airbnb business the smart way.

I run a multi-six figure Airbnb business and there are still things I refuse to buy for our properties. Not because we can’t afford them. But because a lot of “host upgrades” are actually profit killers. Most new hosts spend money on things that look nice… …but don’t increase bookings, reviews, or nightly rates. Here are a few things I almost never buy 👇 1. Cheap furniture that won’t survive guests Buying inexpensive pieces sounds smart… until you’re replacing them every 6 months. 2. Colored bedding Guests trust what they can see. White sheets signal cleanliness and professionalism. 3. Fragile decor If you have to worry about it breaking every stay… it doesn’t belong in a short-term rental. 4. Overly complicated smart home tech If guests need instructions to turn on the lights… it’s too complicated. 5. Amenities that don’t increase bookings We only invest in upgrades that actually drive revenue (hot tubs, great outdoor spaces, design themes). 6. “Pinterest” design without strategy Pretty is nice. Bookable is what matters. 7. Tiny towels or limited supplies Nothing kills reviews faster than guests feeling like the host cheaped out. 8. Random furniture layouts Every property should be designed for groups, photos, and guest flow. 9. Excessive kitchen gadgets Guests use about 10% of what hosts provide. 10. Anything that doesn’t improve guest experience OR revenue Every purchase should answer one question: 👉 Will this increase bookings, reviews, or nightly rate? If the answer is no… we skip it. That mindset is how we scaled to 85+ Airbnbs and built a multi-six figure hosting business. If you want to see how we actually design and optimize properties like this… Comment START and we’ll send you the details to join our STR Incubator community.

Technically, I’ve done both 🫠 On average, it costs about $105,000 for 4 years of college tuition. For private colleges, it can cost around $220,000 🤯 The crazy part about this is that they are letting kids take out massive amounts of loans for a piece of paper that doesn’t even guarantee a job that will pay back that loan, BUT, they won’t let that same student take out a loan to start a business… I don’t necessarily regret my college experience, but I would have so much rather gotten loans to buy real estate than a college degree 🏡 Now, I’m not saying everyone shouldn’t go to college… There are definitely jobs that we need as a society that requires a college degree. I’m just saying that if you aren’t interested in those jobs, look at other options… 🏚️ If you want to learn more about how we are finding Airbnb deals to manage, comment the word “LEARN” and I’ll send you our free beginners masterclass on how to build a 6 figure business from scratch without owning any property! Seven years ago we had zero properties. Today we own 7, manage 78 more, and our company generates $250K–$400K+ per month. But the real flex? We don’t miss our kids growing up. This didn’t start with money. It started with a decision. If you’re ready to build an Airbnb business that funds freedom — not burnout — Comment START and we’ll show you how to join the Incubator.

What most people don’t realize about running an Airbnb 👇 1️⃣ Most properties don’t actually cash flow A lot of hosts buy the wrong property. They chase cheap homes instead of high-demand guest experiences. We’ve seen hosts buy properties that only make a few hundred dollars a month… while the right property can generate $8K–$15K per month. The difference is strategy. 2️⃣ Amenities change everything Things like hot tubs, fire pits, saunas, and games rooms can dramatically increase revenue. One of our properties generated over $50K last year just from pet fees and add-ons alone. Small upgrades can create massive returns. 3️⃣ Airbnb is NOT passive (at first) Guest messages. Cleaning coordination. Pricing adjustments. Maintenance issues. Until you install the right systems and team, it’s very hands-on. It took us years to build the systems that allow us to operate 85+ properties today. 4️⃣ Design is what wins bookings Guests don’t book square footage. They book experiences. A well-designed 1,200 sqft property can outperform a boring 3,000 sqft house. 5️⃣ Systems determine everything Most hosts burn out because they’re stuck doing everything themselves. But when you build the right systems, you can scale without being trapped in the day-to-day. That’s exactly what we teach inside our community. If you want to learn how to: • find the right STR properties • increase revenue with the right amenities • install systems that remove you from the day-to-day • scale your Airbnb business the right way ✨️ Comment START and we’ll send you the link to join our private STR Incubator community.

Imagine being 67 and realizing you missed evenings like this… Because you were busy working a job that gave you a 2% raise but took 90% of your life. That thought stuck with me. For years I worked a traditional job, trading time for money like everyone else. And while there’s nothing wrong with that path… I realized something: Time is the one thing you never get back. That’s a big part of why Katrina and I went all-in on building our Airbnb business. Not just for the income. But for the freedom it could create. Freedom to: • build something of our own • control our schedule • spend more time with our family • design life on our terms Fast forward to today… We’ve built a portfolio of 85+ Airbnbs and helped hundreds of students start and scale their own short-term rental businesses. But the real win isn’t the properties. It’s the time freedom. More dinners together. More evenings like this. More moments that actually matter. Because at the end of the day… No one looks back and wishes they spent more time at the office. If you’ve been thinking about building something of your own, maybe this is your sign. Comment START and we’ll send you the details for our STR Incubator community, where we teach hosts how to build profitable short-term rental businesses. Your future self will thank you.

Are you behind the times??👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 Security deposits are such a hassle to hold and refund There’s a better way — especially if you’re hosting across platforms like Airbnb, VRBO, Booking.com, or taking direct bookings. Let’s be real… Aircover sounds good on paper — but it’s slow, inconsistent, and heavily favors the guest. If you’re relying on it to protect your property, you're playing a risky game. Here’s what we do instead (and what we teach our students to do too): 1️⃣ Screen smart – We require all guests to be over 25, listed on the reservation, and submit government ID. If someone refuses? 🚩 Major red flag. 2️⃣ Rental agreement is non-negotiable – Every guest signs. It outlines our house rules clearly so there are no surprises. Good fences = good guests. 3️⃣ Real insurance that actually protects us – We use @truvi.official for every reservation. It’s built into the booking, has $0 deductible coverage, and protects us even if someone breaks a wine glass or stains a towel — on ANY platform. 🎯 And if you want to learn how to protect your business, scale faster, and stop spinning your wheels — you need to be in our incubator community! Want access to our strategies, tools, and frameworks — without spending a dime? Here’s what you’ll unlock inside our free STR Wealth Academy app: ✅ How to audit & analyze new properties (even if you’re just getting started) ✅ How to set up listings that are profitable from day one ✅ The exact systems we use to automate operations across 70+ units ✅ STR-specific marketing strategies no one else is teaching This is where we drop the real game. No fluff. No gatekeeping. Just proven strategies that actually help you grow. 🔥 Comment “Automate”and I’ll send you the framework we use to run 75+ Airbnbs with our team and systems just like this You’ll get direct access to trainings, tools, and support from hosts who are actually doing it. #strcoach #airbnbhost #vacationrentalbusiness #strwealthacademy #shorttermrentals #automateyourairbnb #airbnbmarketing #airbnbbusiness #hospitalityentrepreneur #scaleyourstr #airbnbautomation #passiveincome #realestateinvestor

Most hosts don’t even realize this is possible… But this one strategy completely changed the income potential of one of our properties. Let’s break it down. We have a duplex close to downtown in our city. One side is a 5-bedroom house The other side is a 4-bedroom house Most hosts would simply list them separately. But we looked at it differently. Instead of two listings… We created a third listing. A 9-bedroom version of the property. This is called a Parent-Child Listing Strategy inside @hospitable_com Here’s how it works: ➡ Listing #1: The 5-bedroom home ➡ Listing #2: The 4-bedroom home ➡ Listing #3: A 9-bedroom listing combining both units So now guests can book: • One side of the duplex • The other side • Or the entire property together And that’s where things get interesting. Because there is only ONE other listing in our entire city with this many bedrooms. Which means we’re attracting a completely different guest. Corporate retreats. Large family reunions. Wedding groups. We recently had a booking come through for $8,825 for 5 nights. Same property. Just packaged differently. We basically found the glitch in the matrix. This is one of the many ways we optimize listings to unlock hidden revenue. Most hosts think they need more properties to make more money. Often they just need to maximize the ones they already have. If you want to learn how to optimize the listings you already own or manage… Comment START and we’ll invite you into our STR Wealth Incubator community

Most Airbnb hosts focus on getting the booking. The best hosts focus on the experience after the booking. And that’s where the money is. Over the past 7+ years operating Airbnbs and managing 85+ properties, we’ve learned something simple: The difference between a 3-star stay and a 5-star stay usually comes down to small details. Here are 5 things we add to every property 👇 1️⃣ A small welcome gift Nothing fancy. But it immediately makes guests feel like they were expected. 2️⃣ A handwritten thank you note We include a direct booking link with a discount so guests book with us next time instead of Airbnb. 3️⃣ White sheets. Always. Guests trust what they can see. Clean white bedding builds instant confidence. 4️⃣ Lots of backup supplies Extra towels, paper products, toiletries. Guests should NEVER feel like the host cheaped out. 5️⃣ Frictionless check-in Keypad entry + a digital guidebook so guests can easily find everything they need. These small details create: • better reviews • repeat bookings • higher nightly rates • happier guests Most hosts underestimate how much guest experience drives revenue. If you want to learn how we built and scaled our Airbnb portfolio and help others do the same… Comment START and we’ll send you the details to join our STR Incubator community. We’ll show you how to build a profitable Airbnb business without learning everything the hard way.

Seven years ago… We didn’t own property. We didn’t have 85 listings. We didn’t have a Nordic spa build underway. We didn’t have $3.4M in annual bookings. We had belief. And we had a decision. A decision to stop waiting. A decision to stop overthinking. A decision to build something that gave us control over our time, income, and future. The first deal wasn’t glamorous. The first listing wasn’t perfect. The first year wasn’t easy. But we didn’t need perfect. We needed momentum. What most people don’t realize is this: You don’t need to own 10 properties. You don’t need millions in capital. You don’t need to quit your job tomorrow. You need a blueprint. The same systems that now support 85+ listings and millions in revenue are the same systems we wish we had on day one. If you’re sitting there thinking “I want to start… but I don’t know how” you’re exactly where we were 7 years ago. And to think… this all started with zero properties and a willingness to bet on ourselves. If you’re ready to build your own version of this story: Comment START and we’ll show you how to join the Incubator and build your Airbnb business the right way — with systems, leverage, and a clear path forward.

Two weeks from now… Units #88, #89 and #90 will go live. And honestly — every property we launch keeps getting better and better. This one is a 3,000 sq ft home designed specifically for short-term rentals: • Entire upstairs unit • Separate downstairs suite • Hot tub • Air conditioning • Designed for large groups • And an Oilers themed experience for fans visiting Edmonton This is a STR management client property, and we structured it to create multiple revenue streams from one home. Most hosts look at a house like this and think: “Nice property.” We look at it and think: “How many listings can we create from this?” “How do we design it to dominate our market?” “How do we make it impossible for guests to compare us on price?” That’s the difference between owning Airbnbs and building an Airbnb business. If you want to learn how we analyze properties, structure deals, and scale portfolios like this… Comment START and we’ll send you the details to join our STR Incubator community. 🚀

No one tells you this when you start Airbnb… It’s not passive. It’s not easy. And more doors won’t magically fix your income. After 7 years, 7 owned properties, 78 managed, and building a multi-7 figure hosting company… Here’s what we know: 1️⃣ Airbnb is not mailbox money. Unless you build systems, install automation, and create a team — you are the bottleneck. Freedom is engineered. 2️⃣ More properties doesn’t mean more profit. We’ve owned properties that made a few hundred a month… While others made $10K+ monthly profit with the same operational effort. Energy is fixed. Profit is not. Choose better assets. 3️⃣ The fastest way to grow is borrowing experience. Mentorship is cheaper than mistakes. Every single time. If you want to shortcut the trial and error… Comment START to join our Incubator community for $97 and learn how to build this the right way. Stop guessing. Start building.

What every Airbnb/STR bedroom should have 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 1. A full length mirror 2. Blackout curtains/blinds 3. Somewhere for guests to hang clothes + a luggage rack 4. Airbnb has removed the automatic ranking boost for new listings, meaning mediocre launches now lead to immediate burial. Today's algorithm tracks engagement from day one, so you must treat every listing like a high-stakes product launch to avoid a permanent visibility hole.

Hey Plateaued Host 👋 This page is for you. Not the total beginner. And not the person with 100 listings either. We're talking about the host in the messy middle. You’ve already started. Maybe you have 1… 3… or even 5+ listings. You’ve figured some things out. But you're also realizing something: This business gets way harder to scale without the right systems. You’re answering messages. Managing cleaners. Adjusting pricing. Solving guest problems. And somehow still trying to grow. We know this stage well. Because we were there too. Over the last 7+ years we’ve learned how to turn STR from a hands-on hustle into a real business. Systems. Team. Automation. Better properties. Better strategy. Now we help other hosts do the same. If this sounds like you… Comment START and we’ll invite you into our STR Wealth Incubator community where hosts like you are learning how to scale their Airbnb business the smart way. You don’t have to figure this out alone. You found your people.

We’ve generated over $20 million in booking revenue across our Airbnb portfolio. But here’s the truth most people won’t say: We did not build it perfectly. If we could rewind 7 years and start from zero… We would move faster and smarter. Here’s exactly what we’d do: 1️⃣ Start with partnership / co-hosting deals Instead of tying up capital in properties early on, we’d focus on controlling inventory. Partnerships let you: • Build income without huge down payments • Prove your systems • Scale cash flow before owning assets Ownership is powerful. But control + cash flow first? That’s leverage. 2️⃣ Install STROS immediately This is the big one. We waited too long to systemize. If we started again, we would: • Hire a VA in the first 30–60 days • Implement PMS + pricing software immediately • Automate guest messaging from day one • Document SOPs as we built Most hosts burn out because they try to “earn the right” to automate. That’s backwards. Systems create scale. 3️⃣ Build our cleaning company in-house early We waited until we had 60+ properties to fully internalize cleaning. That was a mistake. Cleaning is: • Your quality control • Your speed • Your guest experience • Your margin If we did it again, we’d build that infrastructure much sooner. 4️⃣ Invest in mentorship early The biggest delays in our growth? Figuring things out alone. Mentorship collapses time. It eliminates expensive mistakes. It gives you clarity. Speed matters. Here’s what most people get wrong: They focus on the property. We focus on the system. Properties don’t create freedom. Infrastructure does. If you want to build your STR business with leverage from day one — not chaos… Comment START and we’ll send you the details to join our Incubator community. That’s where we teach STROS — the operating system that lets you scale without living in the day-to-day. No fluff. No guru nonsense. Just real frameworks from operators who’ve done it. Comment START.

Here’s what you’ll unlock inside our STR Wealth Academy community: ✅ How to audit & analyze new properties (even if you’re just getting started) ✅ How to set up listings that are profitable from day one ✅ The exact systems we use to automate operations across 70+ units ✅ STR-specific marketing strategies no one else is teaching This is where we drop the real game. No fluff. No gatekeeping. Just proven strategies that actually help you grow. 🔥 Comment “START"and we’ll send you the link to join our Incubator community. You’ll get direct access to trainings, tools, and support from hosts who are actually doing it. #strcoach #airbnbhost #vacationrentalbusiness #strwealthacademy #shorttermrentals automateyourairbnb airbnbmarketing airbnbbusiness hospitalityentrepreneur scaleyourstr airbnbautomation passiveincome realestateinvestor

7 years managing 75+ Airbnbs has taught me exactly what not to do when designing and operating short-term rentals. 😬 Here are 10 things I’d never do in my Airbnbs again (and what to do instead 👇): 1️⃣ Skip professional photos. DIY photos cost you bookings. Instead: hire a pro — the ROI is massive. 2️⃣ Use dark bedding or busy patterns. Guests assume you’re hiding stains. Instead: crisp white linens every time. 3️⃣ Ignore design cohesion. Mismatched furniture screams “cheap.” Instead: pick a clear aesthetic and stick to it. 4️⃣ Underinvest in lighting. Dim spaces feel small and dated. Instead: layer lighting (overhead, lamps, warm bulbs). 5️⃣ Overdecorate with clutter. More stuff = more cleaning + less calm. Instead: minimal, functional, intentional. 6️⃣ Skip A/C or proper climate control. Guests remember being uncomfortable. Instead: invest in comfort, not corners. 7️⃣ Forget maintenance systems. A leaking tub can cost you thousands in reviews + repairs. Instead: schedule quarterly inspections. 8️⃣ Price emotionally. Pricing by “gut” leaves money on the table. Instead: use dynamic pricing software + market data. 9️⃣ Ignore guest flow. If guests can’t find the light switch or the WiFi, it’s not “cozy,” it’s chaos. Instead: optimize the stay experience. 🔟 Think more properties = more profit. It’s not about more doors — it’s about more systems. Instead: install your STR Operating System to grow smarter, not busier. Bottom line: ✨ Guests pay for experience, not square footage. ✨ Great hosts don’t just clean — they curate. ✨ And your STR should serve your life, not the other way around. Save this post for your next property setup — or Comment "Automate" if you’re ready to systemize your Airbnb business and scale without burnout.
