Medical mamas, I see you. 🫶🏻 I will never forget all the emotions I dealt with in those early, pre-diagnosis days with Charlie, when we knew something was wrong but didn’t yet know what. There were so many questions, so many fears, so much uncertainty. We spent over a year doing test after test, trying to get answers. We *finally* got Charlie’s diagnosis through the whole exome genetic sequencing test through GeneDx. Having her diagnosis, while hard on one hand, also felt like such a relief. I found myself wanting to tell everyone HOW we got there so they wouldn’t lose as much time as we did searching for answers. When Ava came along, we knew exactly what to test for, and GeneDX was able to confirm that she had the same genetic diagnosis as Charlie before she was even born. Ava had her diagnosis at 13 weeks gestation. 💙 Despite the stark difference in those two journeys, one thing was the same: diagnosis was power. Diagnosis IS everything. FOUR MONTHS!!! The twinnies are officially four months old 😭 Howwwww? Serious question though: what did you do with your babies to make sure you were soaking up each phase?
