When @gabormatemd told me this, it stopped me in my tracks…

Siblings may grow up in the same house, but that doesn’t mean their childhoods were the same. Not even close.

Same parents? Nope.
Same family? Nope.
Same childhood? Absolutely not.

Parents show up differently for each child depending on the season of their life, their relationship, and even their financial situation.

It’s not about who is loved more.
It’s about how that love is expressed - and how each child experiences it.

If you’ve ever wondered why you and your siblings remember childhood so differently - this is why.

This clip is from my conversation with Dr. Gabor Maté on @themelrobbinspodcast 🎧 “Why You Feel Lost in Life: Dr. Gabor Maté on Trauma & How to Heal.”

In this episode, Dr. Maté reveals how childhood experiences (whether you realize it or not) impact your relationships, self-worth, and the way you navigate life.

It will challenge the way you see yourself and give you the tools to take control of your future.

At the end of the day, the most important question in a relationship is simple:

Do they feel like home?

If you’ve got that - plus loyalty, kindness, and someone who treats people well - you’ve hit the jackpot.

Everything else? Those are just skills. And skills can be learned.

No one comes fully baked. We all grow, learn, and evolve together, and that’s what makes love (and life) so beautiful.

Thank you, @brookemiccio and @daniellecarolan, for having me on @galsonthegopodcast! I had the best time chatting with you both about all things Let Them and so much more 💚

The world lost an icon today.

She was an inspiration and someone I have admired for so many years.

Not just because of everything she accomplished, but because of who she was.

She showed us that you can be wildly successful and deeply kind. Strong and soft. Ambitious and generous. And completely, unapologetically yourself.

Her impact reached far beyond her music. She loved people, she gave back, and she used her success to make a difference in the lives of so many. She was at the very top of my list of people I dreamed of having on the podcast.

Today, I hope you’ll take a moment to read her words and celebrate an incredible life.

Thank you, Dolly, for the music, the wisdom, the laughter, and the reminder that kindness will always matter.

You will be deeply missed. ❤️

@melrobbins breaks down her “Let Them” theory. #FallonTonight
Their behavior is telling you the truth.

If someone’s actions show you that your needs aren’t a priority, believe them. That’s the “Let Them” part.

But then comes the harder piece: “Let Me.” Let me ask myself, “Is this behavior what I deserve? Is this what I’m willing to accept?”

Because here’s the thing: people only change when they want to or when they can. And if you’ve clearly asked for what you need and they still won’t step up, then you’re left with a choice.

You can’t keep clinging to the fantasy of who you wish someone would be while ignoring who they’re showing you they really are.

You want to know one of the most powerful skills you can learn?

Being in a good mood - for no reason at all.

Most of us have trained our brains to expect the worst.
To wake up stressed.
To slip into a bad mood before we’ve even had coffee.

But here’s the thing… You can flip that.

You can teach yourself to wake up optimistic, confident, and ready for the day…

Not because everything’s perfect, but because you’ve built the habit of expecting good things.

And when you expect good things, you start to see them everywhere.

In this episode of @themelrobbinspodcast, I’m teaching you the simple, science-backed affirmations that will rewire your mind and start your day in a powerful, positive state.

After almost 30 years of marriage, I can tell you this:

The best thing you can do for your relationship with your partner is to Let Them be who they are.

You can’t change someone’s core nature.
You can only decide if you’re truly compatible with it.

If being with them means you have to give up your dreams or betray your values, that’s not love, that’s self-abandonment.

But if you can Let Them be who they are, accept what isn’t changing, and still feel at peace in the relationship…

That’s when love grows deeper ❤️

Three truths that will save you a ton of time and heartache:

1️⃣ If they wanted to, they would.
2️⃣ Silence is an answer.
3️⃣ Not everyone shares your values - or your heart.

Once you come to terms with those three things, life becomes a lot easier.
Which one lands hardest for you? 💚

I can’t believe this was two years ago that we moved our youngest @oakley_robbins into his freshman dorm room.

I was so emotional… Now he’s going into his junior year and moving himself in. I wanted to go and help him but he said no… Let Them 🙃

College students, remember that your parents are also entering a new chapter of their lives.

Let Them take a million pictures and introduce themselves to everyone.
Let Them stay for lunch and fuss over the small details in your room.
Let Them love you a little bit harder right now.

Be patient with them as you both ease into this way of life.

If you’re moving into your dorm this weekend, toss a copy of The Let Them Theory in your bag.

And parents, make sure to grab a copy for yourself, too. You’ll all use it more than you think. 💚 @letthemtheory

Can you hang on a bar for 1 minute? I want to challenge you.

I almost couldn’t do it!

On this episode of @themelrobbinspodcast, I’m joined by Dr. Brennan Spiegel, a leading gastroenterologist and medical researcher, who explains that your grip strength - even something as simple as hanging from a bar - is a powerful signal about your health.

Grip strength has been linked to your overall strength, your cardiovascular fitness, and even how long you’re likely to live.

Because when your body can hold itself up, resist gravity, and stay strong under load, everything functions better.

@brennan_spiegel breaks down what this simple test reveals and the small ways you can build strength to support your body for the long run.

I am so thrilled to be nominated for the first ever @goldenglobes award for “Best Podcast.”

Until this week, I had never in my life walked a red carpet or been to any Hollywood event.

This is so far out of my comfort zone … keep in mind I live in Vermont and the most exciting event in my town is the annual holiday tractor parade (which I am still trying to get @the.chrisrobbins motivated to decorate the old @kubotausa so we can join in!) 🚜 🎄

I am determined to have fun this weekend, to experience it all and take you along for the ride!

All I’m I asking for (and I don’t think this is too much) is that my dress still fits and I look way better than normal when I step onto that red carpet for the @goldenglobes on Sunday night (which is technically 1:30PST here…)

What’s your advice for keeping yourself centered and still enjoying a big moment like this. I’ll take all the help I can get!

ps. Those amazing disco pants everyone - all credit for the pants goes to my friend @leannefordinteriors

The sequin pants were in her COSTUME CLOSET (I kid you not - who has vintage @michaelkors in their costume closet people)!!! Leanne does! And she insisted that I borrow them to wear Golden Globes week!

The LEGENDARY @erinwalshstyle then took those puppies and turned me into a supernova.

If you’re an eldest daughter, you need to hear this.

If you’ve always felt responsible for everyone else, there’s a reason - and it’s not because you’re “too much” or “too sensitive.”

Comment ‘Heal’ and I’ll DM you a link to the full episode!

According to Columbia-trained psychologist and intergenerational trauma expert, Dr. Mariel Buqué, many eldest daughters are pushed into adult roles too early.

Caring for siblings. Managing emotions. Holding everything together.

That kind of pressure doesn’t just disappear when you get older.

It often shows up as an adult who has a hard time asking for help, feels guilty letting others take care of her, or automatically takes charge in relationships and at work - even when she’s exhausted.

In today’s episode of @themelrobbinspodcast, Dr. Buqué explains why so many eldest daughters carry this responsibility - and how it can finally start to ease.

That’s why this episode is so eye-opening.

This conversation with @dr.marielbuque is an invitation to stop absorbing everyone else’s stress, see your family with clearer eyes, and protect your peace.

There are relationships that are worth healing, but it can be really hard to do that when you don’t know where to start.

This episode will show you where to begin.

This is why you’re not having fun:

You’re too worried about people judging you.

You’re holding back. Second‑guessing. Trying to make sure you don’t look awkward, cringe, or “too much.” But here’s the truth:

If you want to have more fun, you need to LET THEM be miserable.

Let Them judge you.
Let Them think you’re weird.

When you stop holding yourself back, your energy changes. You lighten up. You give yourself permission to enjoy the moment and you give everyone else permission to do the same.

On this episode of @themelrobbinspodcast, I show you how to stop taking everything so seriously, let go of the fear of judgment, and start feeling more joy, energy, and fun in your life again.
