2018–2026 — @NewmarkModels 🙏🏼RIP I met @JulesNewmark in May of 2018… on a Greyhound bus headed to EDC. She was in the very back with her girls (@natamals ❤️ ), I was in the very front, and we were parked in soul-crushing traffic while I was doing my best to keep the bus awake. Suddenly she stands up in the aisle and yells,
“WHO ARE YOU?!” “Shelby Bay.” “COME SIT WITH US.” I walked to the back of that bus and she asked what agency I was with. I said Factor. She looked at me and said, “You’re a Newmark.”
One week later, I left the agency I moved to LA for… and joined her. What she didn’t know at the time was I had already experienced some really dark, unfair things in this industry - things a 19-year-old girl should have been protected from. The moment I met Jules, I didn’t care about rankings, prestige, or who looked better on paper. I trusted her and wanted to be apart of whatever she was doing. I got to grow alongside an agency that went from a small board to a full powerhouse. We traveled the world. We hustled. We absolutely had our party era. I watched Jules evolve into motherhood while somehow still fighting like hell for her girls. Then came @gobrig_or_gohome , and the two of them bent over backwards to keep me working, even when I was juggling real estate and didn’t always give modeling the respect it deserved. They still showed up for me. Every time. And that kind of loyalty sticks with you. Last week Jules FaceTimed me, and we had the conversation I didn’t realize I needed. About moving on. About how I’ve spent years living with one foot in and one foot out of things… because going all-in meant risking losing everything. She saw that before I did. And in true Jules fashion, she didn’t hold me to something out of comfort or history, she gave me permission to fully step into what I love now. How rare is that? 📷 Thankful for my modeling era. The memories, the chaos, the growth, the paychecks when I needed them most, the rooms it allowed me to be in, and the women who helped shape who I am walking into this next chapter. 9 years ago, I went to get a massage at The Now in West Hollywood. Another day. I met a girl working at the front desk who also did makeup on the side. Casually told her I had a modeling agency and we always needed makeup so email me and gave her my card. A couple weeks later, I received an email from a girl named Morgan Reynolds. I just went back and found the email…I still smile thinking of that girl and now reading through the filter of all these years. She said, “As I sit here today in the dead silent spa, I can’t shake the feeling that I am suppose to be doing something else.” We met for a drink that turned into the Momo x Mommy show, giving me some of my favorite memories of my life. Happy Birthday to the fabulous woman we all know and love @momomeow I am so proud of who you’ve become and am thrilled to see you in your Mom era 🦋

Giving birth, milk, sleepless days, full shows of entertainment, experiences, gratitude, first time advice, explanations, my heart, money, patience and 100% realness! Stella you’ve changed my life in ways I could have never imagined or prepared for. You know there is no real preparation for becoming someone’s guardian, protector and life giver. Sure read a book, hear the endless advice (paranoid as it may be at times) but really the only thing you can do is become as much as your whole self as possible and then buckle up to become your most giving self. You are writing the chapters for someone else’s how to be a human manual after all…no pressure babe! xoxo
