While people like Jemele Hill are calling out a purported “double standard” regarding how Dianna Russini has been treated, Crissy Froyd has taken a completely different stance on the issue.

Russini felt the need to resign from her job at The Athletic earlier this week in the wake of photos of her locking fingers, hugging, and hanging out in a hot tub at an adults-only resort in Arizona with Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel making the rounds on the internet. ⛱️

Both Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel denied the allegations that they were doing anything inappropriate.

In her resignation letter, Russini claimed that she has “covered the NFL with professionalism.”“I’m sure you were told to submit this or that you’d get fired instead,” Froyd wrote on X in response to Russini’s resignation letter.

🗣️ - “Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. We know who you really are and what you’ve been up to for years. It does so much detriment to women in sports who have done things the right way.”

Crissy Froyd later confirmed her feelings about Dianna Russini in an interview with the Daily Caller.

🗣️ - “I want to first of all say that I am so thankful an outlet does have the audacity to do a story on Dianna Russini being called out,” Froyd said. “She deserves to have been, and all of us do know what she’s been up to.

“From fights with other reporters in Chili’s parking lots about hooking up with married NFL coaches to everything else, it is almost certainly all true.” 👍

“It was the worst kept secret in the NFL reporting world for a while.”

“Someone once propositioned me to have Dianna potentially be my mentor. I declined because I knew what she was about and her track record.” 👎

“I can honestly say I have never slept with a player or coach for professional gain,” she said. “Dianna cannot say the same.”

Froyd, who graduated from LSU in 2021, did admit that she had a relationship with former quarterback J.T. Daniels, but that it didn’t begin “until after he was out of football.” 🏈

The idea that a private investigator was following them has picked up serious traction, especially after another sighting of the two together in Indianapolis around the NFL Combine surfaced.

Photographs of Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel and NFL insider Dianna Russini hanging out at an adults-only Arizona resort were shopped around before they were ultimately published by the New York Post earlier this week, sources told FOS.

TMZ received a tip about the photos of Vrabel and the senior NFL insider for The Athletic, FOS has learned.

An anonymous tipster reached out to the outlet, saying that Vrabel was hanging out with an unidentified woman. When TMZ staffers evaluated the photos, they eventually realized that it was Russini. The anonymous tipster was not from a known paparazzi or photo agency, and requested an unspecified sum in the “four figures.” As TMZ’s newsroom deliberated whether this was a legitimate story or too “bedroom police-y,” the Post’s Page Six vertical ran with it, rendering the debate moot, a source said.

A TMZ spokesperson did not respond to multiple emails seeking comment.

Multiple sources told FOS the pics were shopped around before the Post published its story on Tuesday. Page Six’s original post on X/Twitter featuring the pics has drawn more than 9.3 million views as of Thursday evening.

Russini resigned yesterday following speculation about the nature of her relationship with New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel.

In her statement, Dianna Russini — who was spotted canoodling with Mike Vrabel at a private Arizona resort — shirked any responsibility while announcing that she was resigning from The Athletic. 🤔

A few hours later, the notice that editor Steven Ginsberg hit the internet, and it could spell more trouble for Russini as the New York Times’ owned outlet will continue its investigation into her conduct.

At this time, other than the initial statement he provided to Page Six when they published the photos, Mike Vrabel has yet to comment on the nature of his relationship with Russini, whom he was photographed holding hands, hugging, lounging by a pool, and soaking in a hot tub with. 🏊‍♂️⛱️
