The defence has been a problem all season, and everyone knows it. Liverpool, Man United, and Real Madrid have all been linked in the past. Newcastle tried and failed. This is not a player flying under anyone's radar. Schlotterbeck at Dortmund is the cheaper alternative at $50m, with his contract talks stalled. Cristian Romero from Spurs is another option. But Deco wants Inacio first and everyone else second. Barcelona chasing a $77m centre-back while fighting financial constraints and also needing a Lewandowski replacement. The ambition is there. The money is the question. It always is with Barca.

Real Madrid are buying back Nico Paz from Como this summer. The buy-back clause is $10m. His market value is $72m. The Spanish media is calling it the deal of the century. Sold him to Como in 2024 for $6.5m straight out of Castilla. Inserted a buy-back clause across three windows. $10m in 2026. $11m in 2027. Plus 50% of any resale rights. Madrid never lost control. 11 goals. 14 assists. 51 appearances. The 21-year-old turned Como into one of the most watchable teams in Serie A under Cesc Fabregas. Argentina international. World Cup hopeful. And Real Madrid are getting him back for pocket change. Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City, Tottenham, and Man United all made enquiries. Tottenham reportedly offered a $77m package last summer. Madrid's response was simple. They told Paz to ignore everything. He listened. Como's president already admitted defeat months ago. "It is impossible to convince Real Madrid to remove the buy-back option. Better to enjoy Nico Paz while he is here."
