…the truth is: The more followers you have, the more powerful you are. I’m not afraid to say “the quiet part” out loud because I want YOU to be aware of this. SOMEONE needs to talk about this and I’m happy to do it. If you have a lot of followers, you have power. Literal power. The power to get stuff for free. The power that opens important doors. The power of being connected to the right people. The power to make money on demand. I think we’re really uncomfortable with the word “power” but I’m being honest with you. And here’s what’s really wild: It’s never been easier for ANYONE to grab power. We are living in a time when ANYONE can go viral. Anyone can build an audience, for free. 22 months ago, I decided to start posting consistently on Instagram. Almost 400,000 followers later… People are starting to recognize me when I’m out and about. I’m getting invited into better and better rooms. I make hundreds of thousands of dollars per month from the digital products I sell on IG. Trust me: you will NEVER regret working to grow your Instagram account. ✨

Step 2: decide a hyper-specific problem you want to solve. For example: if your friends come to you for party-planning advice (and most of the parties you plan are for kids), your hyper-specific problem should be “How To Plan Kids Parties On A Budget”. Hyper-specific. Step 3: pick the kind of digital product you’ll create around that hyper-specific problem. A video course OR a PDF/spreadsheet bundle is a good place to start. Step 4: create your digital product. It should take 2-4 hours max. Don’t overthink it. Step 5: build a very simple checkout page so people can pay you. (I use Samcart and highly recommend!) Never a dull moment over here at Team Maria. 🙈🐰 If you look closely, on the first clip of me, you’ll see a little bit of pink fabric. That’s Ellie’s shirt and we were just cuddling together when Kelly texted me this. Forever grateful to everyone who helps me focus on the two things I do best: 1: be the best mama to sweet Ellie 2: scale my business from $10M to $100M. Grateful for everyone but esp @kellykellywebb
1: go to a grocery store. My assistant shops for me and we have a whole system where she notices what’s low, introduces new whole foods for me to try and basically removes my need to think about anything grocery-related. 2: pump my gas. This saves me time and I can always count on my tank being filled, which is one less thing I need to mentally keep track of. 3: style my own hair. I have a stylist that comes 3x a week to style my hair after I wash it. Not only does it look better than anything I could do but it also allows me to work while my hair is being done (I’m literally typing this as she blow dries my hair right now) 4: schedule my own appointments. 5: wake up to an alarm: but that’s just cuz I have a 3 year old hehe, nothing clever happening there. I’m sharing this because I get a lot of questions on how I “do it all” and I just need you to know that I don’t. Right now, I only do 2 things: 1: Be the best mama possible to my daughter (but even then, I have some childcare that not everyone has. Not a lot because I don’t want a lot, but some!) 2: I’m actively working on scaling my company to $20M per year (last year we did $8M top line.) That’s it. Everything else needs to get done by someone else. In the beginning, it was all me, for years. I didn’t hire my first employee until 2019 and I started my business in 2013. So I do get it. You can start leveraging your time in really really small baby steps. I started by cancelling $125 in monthly subscriptions and that’s what I paid my first team member. I think it was maybe 2 hours per week, so not a lot at all. But I very intentionally used those new 2 hours a week to do money-generating tasks. And I just kept doing that over and over again until here we are. If you’re still in the trenches, please take a moment to love on yourself. You’re in the “pinch point” stage where it’s literally impossible to get it all done. I validate that. My advice? Try to find one tiny repetitive task you do every day or every week you can either stop doing or give to someone else. Just one small task. Even the tiniest shifts compound over time. 😘

That it’s cemented into my brain. Also, sidenote, I don’t even think I’m really rich, to be honest. But I definitely am living a life of abundance. I’m very grateful for my financial situation. A few months ago, I officially became a liquid millionaire. It’s crazy because when I started 11 years ago, I made $63 in my first YEAR. Now, I make $63 every 6 minutes. It certainly didn’t happen overnight but it HAPPENED. And I’m so grateful I took that first step a long time ago.
