France’s men’s hockey team crashed out of the Winter Olympics after losing to Germany, but the bigger story is surrounding defenseman Pierre Crinon. 🏒

The 30 year old was kicked off the team after getting ejected for fighting Tom Wilson, which came after he answered for an elbow to Nathan MacKinnon during a brutal 10 to 2 loss to Canada. 🇨🇦

While international officials did not add extra punishment beyond the automatic game misconduct, his own team decided his behavior crossed the line.

This also reopened old wounds. Back in November, Crinon sucker punched a goalie during a French league game, leaving him bloodied and earning a seven game suspension. 😬

Prosecutors originally dropped potential charges, but after seeing his latest outburst at the Olympics, they reversed course. Officials say his repeated violent incidents show he learned nothing from getting off the hook the first time. 🤔

Now Crinon has been ordered to appear in court on May 27 to face charges tied to intentional violence at a sporting event, with his glove being considered the weapon.
