It is sometimes hard to express into words what New Orleans means to us, but my wife expressed it beautifully in a text to our friends who just experienced Mardi Gras for the first time with us. I’d like to share:
“OK, I’ve been trying to figure out how to put all of my thoughts about this weekend into a text message .. so I will do my best!

First and foremost ..Thank you for coming to New Orleans and sharing Mardi Gras with us.
It means more than we can ever fully put into words that you chose to take time away from your families to experience something so deeply special to our hearts. 💕 This city has given us so much over the years….its joy, its soul, its music, its people— it welcomed us with open arms when the city was just as broken as Drew’s shoulder ….

And seeing you all fall in love with it too was one of the greatest gifts we could receive.

There is something almost impossible to describe about being on a float and looking people in the eyes—seeing their excitement, their joy, their gratitude—and feeling that incredible human connection. In those moments, you realize Mardi Gras isn’t about beads or throws or spectacle ( or boobs :) ) It’s about connection. It’s about giving joy freely, without expectation, and somehow receiving even more back in return.

You get up there thinking you are the one giving out beads ….but the truth is, the crowd gives you something far greater in return … it’s the way Drew and I have always felt about the city ❤️ Their smiles, their energy, their love—it fills you in a way nothing else can. It reminds you how powerful it is simply to see one another, to share joy, to be present together.

Having you all there beside us made it all even more meaningful. Thank you for embracing this city, for embracing the experience, and for understanding why it holds such a special place in our lives. We are so grateful to share it with people we love so much.”

Sources say the couple quietly called it quits, though it’s unclear if they’ve filed for divorce, and LaBeouf reportedly moved to New Orleans after the breakup to be closer to family.

The pair first met on the set of Nymphomaniac: Vol. II and tied the knot in a Las Vegas ceremony in 2016. After multiple splits and reconciliations, including a brief divorce filing in 2018, they reunited and welcomed a child in 2022.

News of the reported breakup comes as LaBeouf was arrested in Louisiana during Mardi Gras and charged with two counts of simple battery. He is currently being held without bond and is expected to appear before a judge.

Shia LaBeouf has been the talk of the town in New Orleans. Some of the talk has been good, other chatter? Not so much. 😬

Leading up to Fat Tuesday and Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Shia has been seen out and about and bartenders throughout the city are sharing stories about the actor coming into their establishments.

Now it is being reported that Shia LaBeouf has been arrested. 🚔

TMZ reported that the Holes star was arrested after an alleged brawl during Mardi Gras. They shared this clip of the shirtless actor surrounded by officers following what appeared to have been a confrontation of sorts. 🤔

The incident reportedly occurred late night/early morning on Tuesday in the French Quarter where the actor has been seen out and about since late last week.

The nature of the altercation is unknown. Shia LaBeouf did recently say he almost punched his ‘mentor’ Jon Voight over politics, so there’s that. 🤷‍♂️

Numerous clips of Shia around the city have been seen on TikTok, all of them fairly boring in nature. But reports from bartenders in the city suggest he’s been causing a scene.

One bartender at Ms Mae’s said they asked LaBeouf to leave after he tried to become a “celebrity bartender” and start pouring drinks. One security guard said the actor showed up shirtless and without cash to an all cash bar. 🍻💳

A bartender at that establishment claimed there are 50 ‘cash only’ signs around the bar and Shia asked to use his credit card three time.

They said “he asked me three times if he could use his credit card. Why don’t you go back and dig holes?” Another anonymous bartender said “he is terrorizing the city!” according to the Hollywood Reporter. 😂

The actor has famously been sober since 2017 when he was court ordered into a rehab treatment program. Since then, he has led a comparatively quiet life with his wife Mia Goth. But something seems to have changed in Shia’s life recently.
