The conflict in Iran has entered new territory.⁣ ⁣ Medical technology company Stryker said yesterday that its systems experienced a global disruption as a result of a cyberattack. Specifically, the company’s Microsoft environment was affected. ⁣ ⁣ Work laptops and cell phones were disabled, and electronic ordering capabilities were knocked offline. Stryker, which is based in Michigan, makes medical devices and equipment such as joint implants and defibrillators.⁣ ⁣ An Iran-linked hacker group claimed responsibility for the cyberattack, calling it a retaliation on behalf of Iran. It appears to be the first major cyberattack against a US company since the Iran war started.⁣ ⁣ Stryker said there’s no indication of malware or ransomware and that its products remain fully safe to use.⁣ ⁣ 📸 : Getty / Stryker
