RIP to John Sterling. The long time voice of the Yankees on the radio. The only, and I mean ONLY, person in the Yankees organization I’ve ever liked. He was with the Yankees for THIRTY SIX SEASONS! Including a 5,000+ game streak from 1989 to 2019. His nicknames and customized HR calls were a highlight of New York baseball for decades. He has a few legendary calls, and a BILLION botched ones. But he was always charming and endearing, even when he was accidentally calling home run replays as real home runs. Up to the press booth in the sky you go, John!
