Boston is getting an early look at one of 2026’s biggest sci-fi films.
“Project Hail Mary,” starring Ryan Gosling, will have early 70mm screenings at Coolidge Corner Theatre starting March 13.
70mm film uses a much larger frame than traditional movie formats, allowing for sharper images, richer colors, and a more immersive viewing experience.
The screenings arrive one week before the movie’s nationwide release on March 20, making Boston one of only a handful of cities with early access to the format.
By the way, we have a weekly newsletter with what’s worth knowing about and doing in Boston. One newsletter. Once a week. Link in bio.
