Eric Dane’s last ever interview is now streaming on Netflix as part of the platform’s series “Famous Last Words”. The Grey’s Anatomy star, best known as Dr. Mark Sloan, died on 19 February, nearly 10 months after being diagnosed with ALS. According to Netflix, the interview was “conducted under an agreement that the episode would only be aired after his death.”

At the end of the episode, Dane speaks directly to his daughters, Billie and Georgia, saying: “These words are for you. I tried. I stumbled sometimes, but I tried… I want to tell you four things I’ve learned from this disease.” He urges them to “live now”, adding: “The present is all you have. Treasure it. Cherish every moment.”

He also encourages them to “fall in love” with something that gives their life purpose, to choose their friends wisely, and to “fight with every ounce of your being, and with dignity… Fight until your last breath. This disease is slowly taking my body, but it will never take my spirit.”

He signs off with: “Billie and Georgia, you are my heart. You are my everything. Good night. I love you. Those are my last words.” ❤️
