President Donald Trump’s UFC Freedom 250 event is set to take place Sunday on the South Lawn of the White House, coinciding with the president’s 80th birthday and drawing more than 4,000 spectators despite forecasts of severe weather.
The card, held inside UFC’s massive “Claw” structure surrounding the Octagon, begins at 8 p.m. ET and features seven fights, including a lightweight title bout between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje and an interim heavyweight title fight between Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane.
Trump says the UFC is covering the cost of the event, though court filings indicate more than $60 million in government resources and labor have been devoted to the production.
