Those TSA lines will hopefully start movin' a bit quicker now.⁣ ⁣ The Senate passed a bipartisan measure to fund most of the Department of Homeland Security, aiming to end weeks of airport chaos caused by unpaid TSA workers and staffing shortages. The deal restores funding for agencies like TSA, FEMA, and the Coast Guard, but excludes Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Border Patrol, the very sticking points that triggered the standoff in the first place.⁣ ⁣ The partial fix comes after a monthlong funding pause that left airport lines extending into parking garages as workers missed paychecks or called out. While both parties agreed to move forward, the compromise sidesteps deeper immigration policy disputes. Democrats had pushed for stricter enforcement rules, while Republicans signaled they'll pursue ICE funding separately through other legislative routes.⁣ ⁣ Now, the legislation will be handed off to the House for approval.
