As NYC braces for what officials are calling the most serious blizzard in nearly a decade, both Grubhub and DoorDash are suspending operations ahead of the city’s 9 p.m. travel ban.
Grubhub is shutting down service in NYC and New Jersey starting at 7:30 p.m. DoorDash will halt citywide operations at 8:30 p.m., with service expected to remain paused until at least noon Monday.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani declared a state of emergency and ordered all city streets, highways and bridges closed to non-emergency traffic from 9 p.m. Sunday to noon Monday.
That includes cars, trucks, scooters and e-bikes.
City officials are urging residents to stay home and prepare meals indoors as wind gusts and heavy snowfall intensify.
