FIFA is raising ticket prices for the World Cup *again*.
In its latest sales window, prices increased for roughly 40 out of 104 matches, continuing a trend that's pushed premium final tickets to nearly $11,000. That's up from about $8,700 earlier this year and roughly $6,300 when sales first opened, per an NPR analysis.
The governing body is leaning on dynamic pricing for the first time, adjusting costs based on demand, especially for powerhouse teams like Brazil, Argentina, and England. But that strategy is drawing tons of backlash from fans, lawmakers, and consumer groups accusing FIFA of pricing out everyday supporters, even as the organization defends the increases by pointing to strong demand and its nonprofit mission to reinvest in the sport on a global scale.
So you could basically either buy some FIFA tickets or you could put money down on a house. Decisions, decisions...
