Dave Franco says if he could go back and star in any movie, it would be Little Miss Sunshine. The 2006 indie classic follows a dysfunctional family as they pile into a VW bus and road trip across the country so their youngest daughter can compete in a beauty pageant.
Franco said he would have loved to play Dwayne, the brooding teenager who takes a vow of silence until he gets accepted into the Air Force Academy. But he was quick to give credit where it’s due, saying Paul Dano was the right person for the role and played it perfectly.
The film won two Academy Awards, including Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor for Alan Arkin, and grossed over $100 million worldwide on a budget of just $8 million.
