Two Canadians were among the 30 passengers who got off a cruise ship before a deadly hantavirus outbreak onboard was officially reported, and now Canadian health officials say they're reaching out to them with guidance on isolation and public health measures.
The passengers disembarked on the remote South Atlantic island of St. Helena on April 24. The body of a Dutch man who died on April 11 was taken off the ship that same day.
Eight cases of the rare virus, including three deaths, have now been linked to the ship. Around 150 people are still on board.
