This would end the Hornets rebuild overnight.

It's been a while since the Hornets were relevant in the east.

In fact, the last time they finished a season above .500 was 4 years ago.

The last time they made the playoffs was in 2016.

The pieces are there in just about every position... except center.

PG: LaMelo Ball
SG: Brandon Miller
SF: Kon Knueppel
PF: Miles Bridges

Right now, the best center on the roster is rookie Ryan Kalkbrenner.

Early in the season, people were speculating that the Hornets could move Ball to make Knueppel the face of the team.

But why not keep both and fill in the missing piece?

Enter Jaren Jackson Jr.

The Grizzlies haven't officially made him available, but that hasn't stopped teams from giving them an offer.

With Memphis 11th in the west and Ja Morant possibly on the move, a reset is starting to feel inevitable.

Jackson Jr. fits perfectly for the Hornets since they play with a lot of pace and shoot a lot of threes.

While he doesn't rebound the ball much, he does give the Hornets a shot blocker that they haven't had since LaMelo's been on the team.

If they can get it done, this would be the first time in years where the Hornets have a roster that actually makes sense.
