Chapter 39…
When I was younger, I used to romanticize my future. I would dream about the man I might marry, the family I might have, the home I might live in, the business I might run…
I collected each of those dreams somewhere along the way as I was growing up. And now, at 39, I look around and realize somehow it turned out even better than I imagined.
I found my love of entrepreneurship in college. A lot of people spend their whole lives trying to figure out what they’re meant to do. Somehow, I found mine.
I met the love of my life completely unexpectedly in a Starbucks. Some people spend their whole lives looking for that kind of love. Somehow, I found mine.
I have five beautiful children who I remind myself constantly I can never, ever take for granted. And that business I used to dream about? I get to run it with my babies, and it’s quite literally built around the life I love so much.
Sometimes I have to remind myself: it doesn’t get better than this. Not because life is perfect. It certainly isn’t. But because so many of the things I once wondered about, dreamed about and hoped might happen someday… became my life.
So, 39. I feel incredibly grateful to be here.
And if you’re younger (or older) and still in that season of wondering what your life might look like someday: please keep dreaming about it. Believing in it. Working for it.
