Rep. #JasmineCrockett is back coming for President #DonaldTrump’s neck. She has introduced the STOP TRUMP Act, short for the Stop Taxpayer-funded Reimbursement for Unlawful Misconduct by Presidents Act, aimed at preventing taxpayer dollars from being used for political settlements, compensation payouts, or claims tied to Donald Trump, his allies, or January 6 participants under alleged “government weaponization” arguments. _________________________
According to reports, the legislation comes as Trump is reportedly seeking billions through lawsuits and settlement negotiations connected to investigations and prosecutions involving him and his associates. “Working families are struggling to afford groceries, gas, rent, and healthcare — the last thing taxpayers should be forced to do is bankroll political revenge tours and payouts for Donald Trump and his cronies,” Crockett said. _________________________
The bill would reportedly ban federal funds, including the federal Judgment Fund, from being used to settle or pay claims brought by a president, family members, political appointees, affiliated entities, or January 6 participants connected to those claims. Swipe to read more about the act. ✍🏾#TSRStaffAS 📷:(@gettyimages)
