Photographer David Yarrow shot the squad on a private beach near Oslo on Saturday, using longships and Viking clothing to frame the image. Arsenal midfielder Martin Ødegaard missed the session because he was playing in the Champions League final, so he was added later after flying to Oslo on Tuesday.
The Norwegian Football Federation said it chose to lean into the Viking symbolism that already follows the team in the stands. Yarrow said the concept was meant to recast the journey to America as a modern voyage and create a shared pre-tournament moment for the squad.
