Did you know Crystal Palace and Bayern Munich had the exact same home shirt in the late 90s? 🧐

Bayern Munich wore this adidas design from 1995 to 1997 while Crystal Palace wore it a year later until 1998. The shirt is exactly the same, same stripe variation, same collar trim (there was another version with a slightly different design), same colours, the only design difference (other than the crest and sponsor) was the adidas logo. On the Bayern Munich shirt it was centralised whereas on the Crystal Palace shirt it was on the right hand side opposite the crest.

This was Palace’s first adidas shirt since 1983/84 and was worn in the highs and lows of winning the Play-Off Final and also finishing bottom the following year. Bayern Munich have since declared that they wouldn’t be wearing red and blue again due to fan pressure around blue being the colour of their rivals.

Obviously clubs sharing a shirt design isn’t anything revolutionary but we’ve always thought this was an interesting combination.
