Hello 🌈 we wanted to share a bit more about our project: The Hoboken Rainbow Bridge memorial is in the works for Hoboken, bringing a meaningful new space for the community to honor beloved pets who have passed ⛅️
The project was inspired by a visit to the flowering bridge in Lake Lure, North Carolina, and has since grown into a local effort led by Hoboken resident and The Local Girl Media Group founder, @thejennifertrip , alongside Mayor Jabbour, Councilwoman Fisher, and a group of local pet lovers.
Planned for the southeast corner of Elysian Park along the waterfront, the Rainbow Bridge memorial will serve as a peaceful place for reflection, remembrance, and shared healing for anyone who has experienced the loss of a pet.
The initiative is currently in the planning stages, with support from Stevens students and ongoing collaboration with local stakeholders. Our fundraising campaign has officially launched to help cover materials and construction costs!
The project’s nonprofit partner is @wiseanimalrescue, a local organization dedicated to saving and supporting animals in need. Any funds raised beyond what is required for the build and launch will be donated directly to the rescue.
If you feel connected to our mission, we welcome contributions via our Go Fund Me which can be found at TheRainbowBridgeProject.org.
Once built, we’re excited to host a ribbon cutting and memorial collar placement once the bridge is complete.
Follow along @therainbowbridgeproject 🌈
