On August 10, 2019, a post appeared on 4chan’s /pol/ board claiming Jeffrey Epstein had died - before any major news outlet confirmed it. The timestamp shows 8:16 a.m. ET. The first widely cited media report, from ABC News, followed roughly 38 minutes later. The anonymous user described medical details like intubation and transport to the hospital, then told readers to screenshot the post. Epstein was later found unresponsive at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York and pronounced dead at NewYork-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital. His death was officially ruled a suicide by hanging - but questions about how that early post knew anything at all still fuel debate.
